FLO RIDA
Last Thursday, celebrated musician Flo Rida hosted his "Hey Jasmin Experience" concert in Miami. Since his recent release of new smach album Wild Ones, which features hit singles "Whistle," "Good Feeling," and "Wild Ones" featuring Sia, Flo Rida released "Hey Jasmin" as a free track and video in appreciation of his fans. The hip hop star followed up the release with an intimate club performance in celebration of the song, as well as in celebration of his #1 single "Whistle."
The artist was surprised by his management team when they presented him with an incredible cake honoring his hit. There was also a special guest appearance by Interscope recording artist JRand.
If you're familiar with Flo Rida, you're probably familiar with his friend and colleague, hip hop artist J. Dash. Also from Florida, this artist has recently made a huge splash in the music world with his top-of-the-charts single, "WOP." The single comes off his debut album, Tabloid Truth, and has reached the Top 100 on the Billboard charts. The album is sold exclusively through Wal-Mart. J. Dash chats with us about his past musical experience, his new album, and the lovely ladies of his life.
You are a piano prodigy who records hip hop music. Will we hear you playing piano in any of your tracks?
While David Guetta is preparing for EDC Las Vegas this weekend as a headlining artist, he is also releasing new beats and vids. Nothing seems to stop this French hitmaker from dropping the hottest tracks with some of music’s biggest names.
Guetta’s 5th studio LIP, Nothing But the Beat, is scheduled to arrive August 30. He has enlisted an all-star cast of collaborators on the album, including Akon, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Timbaland, Sia, and Dev.
“Levels,” released in May, was perhaps the most anticipated track of the year and the most epic house anthem to date. Recently, another version was released with a little hip-hop flare. Flo-Rida, the king of releasing banger after banger throughout all the clubs in the world, threw down a verse on the song. Here is yet another artist exploding Avicii into every facet of music style. For some, this remix could be a little disheartening to hardcore Avicii fans who would hate to see the mega-mixer fall to the hands of mainstream artists. The song is fire no matter what, mostly because it originated from the techno-master himself.
Whether it was talking about “tatas” with Shontelle or baseball with Asher Roth, Think Pink Rocks Oct. 9 was a night that Michael Swirsky, 11, will never forget.
Swirsky, who wrote a touching email to win the Think Pink ticket giveaway, was kind enough to bring his sister Jen, who spent the night trying to get the little man to open up.
Shontelle took care of that!
After asking what made the concert in support of breast cancer awareness so special, the R&B star responded in kind, saying that as a woman with “tatas” aka breasts of her own, it was extra vital to support her gender and the cause.
It must be nice to be a famous rapper coming back home to the friendly confines of South Florida.
Carol City native Flo Rida has a busy weekend ahead of him - His birthday celebration Friday night at LIV in South Beach and then the third installment of Think Pink Rocks in Boca Raton with 50 Cent on Saturday in support of breast cancer and awareness.
Before heading off to catch LeBron and the new Heat squad in the team’s preseason opener Tuesday night, Flo took a few minutes to chat it up with Mike Rothman about his monster hit “Club Can’t Handle Me”, his new album Only One, his past working with Kesha and someday wanting to work with the legendary Outkast.
It’s the week of Columbus Day Regatta, one of the most highly anticipated weekend events in Miami, and it’s only fitting that the hottest, trendiest club on South Beach would have the hottest weekly lineup.
This epic week at LIV starts Wednesday October 6, when Dirty Hairy presents Skeet Skeet alongside resident DJs Ross One, Contra, and Jessica Who.
