The Magicians of Fashion: Our 5 Fave Stylists

After a full-fledged week of fashion, we were inspired to recognize those who put it all together. What we like to call "The Magicians of Fashion." It sounds fun, but styling is no easy task. In fact, it's an art form. Some can style themselves at the snap of a finger, and others require a little help. Consider this a shout out to all of those stylists who have put together memorable looks, grew from nothing to some of the best in the biz, and even had an influence on trends heard around the world.

The first is Rachel Zoe. We know, no-brainer, right? This fashionista is most well-known for her celeb clientele and her passion for costume jewelry, boho-chic style, and large and in charge dark shades. She has become an inspiration to many where her background lies in New Jersey and her success in the limelight of L.A. With no formal training in styling, she has shown us that anything is possible when you have the drive and hard work in your grasp!

Fashionable Coffee Table Toppers

What do you buy for the fashionista that has everything? Gift certificates are too impersonal, the Louboutins she’s lusting after are too expensive, and trust us—she does not need another scarf. Why not adorn her coffee table with style? Perfect for the lover of all things luxurious, these books are pretty inside and out. Here are some ideas for fashionable décor that you don’t even have to know her color scheme to buy.

Harper’s Bazaar: Greatest Hits is a time capsule of America’s longest-running fashion magazine and one of today’s most influential industry authorities under the direction of Editor-in-Chief Glenda Bailey. The magazine’s evolution is illustrated by over 300 iconic images of the past decades defining moments in celebrity pop culture, politics, and world affairs through the eyes of fashion. “The importance of our fashion magazine is to create something that no one has ever seen before. It’s got to be original, innovative, and exciting. I am also a great believer on a sense of fun,” says Bailey on connecting through the reader’s experience. Greatest Hits takes that connection one step further, bearing all—from the controversial to the acclaimed, with this beautifully entertaining collection.

Grace Coddington Plans To Release a Memoir

With Fashion’s Night Out coming up so rapidly, Vogue is pulling all of its tricks out of the bag: self-promotion on its September cover, partnering with CBS, releasing international meetings discussing the events online and now..

..the announcement of Grace Coddington’s plans to release a memoir.

Considering Coddington’s best supporting actress role in the September Issue, the project, which will be shopped around this fall, should be a good read. Coddington partnered up with former Men’s Vogue editor James Fielden, who has been following her to fashion shows, events and interviewing her close friends and colleagues, to sign with top literary agent Elyse Cheyney.

The Quick Stop: April 5th

Zac Posen's Pop-Up Shop: Clearly Target plans to take over the world - or at the least catch the consumers who love a zingy budget - with more NYC pop-up shops planned, the next being Go International's Zac Posen collaboration. After Liberty of London's urgent pop-up shop pack up before its ending date, Target will be deeming Posen's 24-hour preview as a "shopping party." Aren't there enough parties in fashion already? The pop-up shop will begin April 15th at 11pm, but we expect the line formations to begin at 8pm or earlier for tuxedo-seeking shoppers. Can't make it? Well, too bad. But, if you want the shopping party leftovers, the full collection will be available April 25th in stores.

Peter Lindbergh's Return Home...

It's coming as a big shock to the industry to hear Peter Lindbergh plans to return to Vogue.

After an 18 year hiatus - which was prompterd by Harper's Bazaar, Liz Tilberis stealing him away in 1992 - Lindbergh will now lend his un-retouching ways back to Vogue after meeting with Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington some time last week.

We must say, we're more interested to see how Lindbergh's ways will mesh with Wintour's ways. But, that's not for us to judge. Is it?

Victor Demarchelier's Solo Show A Success

Last night was a full night of events. Whilst Anna Wintour and Miuccia Prada enjoyed the Metropolitan Opera's Attila, and Todd Selby & Cole Haan celebrated "The Inspired Life" campaign, I jetted over to Clic Gallery for the opening reception of Victor Demarchelier's photo exhibit in Soho.
