Chicago's Patty Burger

Patty Burger is easy to overlook; the tiny storefront is nestled beside Au Bon Pain across the street from The Art Institute. If you're looking for a burger in the Loop though, it's worth seeking out.

Angus beef, ground fresh daily and cooked medium, is flavorful, and the buttery buns, baked fresh daily, are perfect for soaking up burger juices. Specialty burgers feature toppings like jalapenos, fried egg and pico de gallo.

Manager Rich Valdez says the most popular burger is The Hollywood - topped with fresh silced avocado, bacon and Provolone cheese.

Two People Burned in Food Truck Explosion

A propane tank exploded in Frites 'n' Meats' food truck on Monday, causing a massive fire that burned two workers and shutdown a large stretch of the West Side Highway.

The popular hamburger truck was stationed on West St. serving lunch when the propane tank exploded, rippling a bomb-like sound throughout Tribeca. The owner of the truck and an employee were rushed to the hospital where they're being treated for serious, but fortunately nonlife-threatening burns.

Worth The Weight

If you are able to secure a reservation at Keith McNally’s West Village sensation(recently given a 3 star rating by Frank Bruni), Minetta Tavern, then strap on your best heels and take a day off from eating, because you are in for a gut-busting event that is sure to be remembered and enjoyed.

I arrived 15 minutes early for my 10:00 P.M. dinner reservation and was directed toward the bar to have a drink while my table was prepared. First, I tried the Kill-Devil Punch, a rum infused citrus drink that was colorful, tangy, and topped off with rum soaked raisins. I moved on to the Rhubarb Sophie, a vodka, agave nectar, rhubarb bitters, and lime drink garnished with a cucumber slice. It was the perfect blend of light and sour so I remained faithful to Ms. Sophie for the rest of the evening.
