Vintage Finds & Brunch for MS Awareness Week

Vintage Twin, the vintage treasure hunters who rework items from the past right here in New York are setting up shop for a one day pop-up during brunch this Sunday, March 10th, downstairs in SoHo’s The Dalloway between noon and 5 pm. Come check out Vintage Twin’s wide array of one-of-a-kind vintage items for ladies, gents, and more! This Sunday Funday event is in honor of MS Awareness Week with 10% of the day’s proceeds going toward supporting The Pediatric MS Society. When you enjoy brunch upstairs at The Dalloway, we recommend their oysters and delicious bloodies, you will receive a $5 dollar coupon to shop downstairs at The Vintage Twin. If you want to build up your appetite, shop before you brunch. Show your Vintage Twin receipt and you’ll be given a brunch cocktail on the house.

A Mid-Winter Escape

Earlier this week, City Harvest's Leadership Council hosted its second annual signature fundraising event, A Mid-Winter Escape. The event took place at Apella and had a Mexican-inspired theme. Local restaurants, including Hill Country Chicken, Toloache, El Toro Blanco, Gran Electrica, Momofuku Milk Bar and more, set up shop for the evening serving guests delicious bites from their restaurants. The event also featured tequila tastings and margaritas in sticking with the Mexican theme. Guests could also participate in the silent auction, which featured items contributed by Bobby Flay, tickets to NY sports events, and more. The event even had some throwback music with a special live performance from Nine Days, best known for their smash hit "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)." More than 220 guests attended the event and raised nearly $800,000.

The Doe Fund's Second Annual sweet: New York Event
The Doe Fund's Second Annual sweet: New York Event is taking place this Thursday (March 7th) at the Classic Car Club in SoHo. Featuring sweet treats and savory eats from New York City's top chefs and restaurants, as well as The Doe Fund's own Culinary Arts program. It's going top be a positive, powerful, and fun night of fabulous food, cocktails, wine with music by Chelsea Leyland. Hosted by Chef Madison Cowan, Wendy Madden, celebrity fashion stylist Derek Warburton, and many more special guests! Warburton, who is well-known for supporting charities, is very excited for the event and spreading the word on how each of us can help one another to become stronger. Choice Eats for a Choice Cause

If you were lucky enough to score the last of the tickets to Village Voice’s 6th-Annual Choice Eats extravaganza yesterday you've instantly become the envy of all your foodie friends. This year’s event features over 50 restaurants and sweet treats handpicked by resident Village Voice food critics, Robert Sietsema and Tejal Rao. The participating restaurants represent the hidden gems of the dining scene that are scattered around the Metropolitan area. Choice Eats also highlights foods from over 35 countries that some diners may have otherwise not had the opportunity to sample with cuisines ranging from Uzbekistan to Tunisia. Restaurants and sweets in attendance at this year’s event include Dirt Candy, Luke’s Lobster, No. 7, Nom Wah Tea Parlor, Carlo’s Bakery, Del Pesto, and more.

JDRF's First Annual Casino Night

Next Saturday, March 9th, South Florida has the opportunity to help put an end to diabetes by participating in JDRF’s First Annual Casino Night. Known formerly as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF is leads the pack when it comes to funding type 1 diabetes research, including finding better treatment and prevention along the path to finding a cure. Taking place at Palm Beach Lamborghini Showroom, the Greater Palm Beach County Chapter of JDRF plans to put on a great party to benefit their cause with an open bar by Mission Capital and great nibbles from Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar and Grease Burger Bar. Those attending will also be able to participate in exciting casino games and bid on some items at a live auction hosted by Palm Beach County Sheriff, Ric Bradshaw.

Final Charity Ticket Auction for Black Tie Rave Set for Feb. 14th

The highly anticpated Black Tie Rave on Feb. 28 featuring Swedish House Mafia on their 'One Last Tour' has already proved to be hugely successful. The first round of tickets were auctioned off in December and with under a third of the tickets sold, an incredible amount of $437,000 was raised for the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund in support of hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Attend Monumental New York Fashion Week Show!
Many a fashionista out there has always dreamed of attending New York Fashion Week. Joonbug has the inside scoop on how you can attend this monumental fashion experience and join some of your favorite and most watched celebrities! “The Reality of FASHION The Reality of AIDS” announced their exciting reality star line up ready to grace the runway on Saturday, February 9th 2013. The formal attire, red carpet event will take place at the Altman Building in New York City. The featured designer for the evening will be Dominique Auxilly. Celebrate Your Status for Hurricane Relief

Sometimes we tend to get a bit stir crazy around the holidays, however, it is the season of giving. So head down to a fun charity event that'll satisfy both your nightlife craving and your charitable spirit.

Gansevoort Park Avenue NYC, along with Status Luxury Group, will hold the annual Celebrate Your Status gala on Monday, December 17th at 9pm. The goal of the evening is to raise $20,000 and collection 2,000 toys for supermodel Petra Nemcova's Happy Hearts Fund. All toys and proceeds from the event will benefit children and schools effected by Hurricane Sandy through the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Sandy Relief at ilili

Ilili Restaurant, which was just rated the #1 Mediterranean Restaurant in NYC by OpenTable diners, is joining the Sandy cause On Sunday, December 9th, the restaurant will donate 10% of all dinner sales to the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance. Additionally, for the entire week, $1 of their signature Sandy Relief Cocktail will be donated to the same organization. The $15 cocktail is comprised of grapefruit, fresh mint, orange blossom simple syrup, with your choice of gin or vodka.

Neil Young Benefit Concert

Neil Young & Crazy Horse have announced that they will be performing a benefit concert on December 6th at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. The concert will benefit Hurricane Sandy relief efforts of the American Red Cross. Tickets go on sale today for $75 and $150 and Everest will be opening the show.
