HEAT
You can guys can be proud : Brits were even more prudish this time. Beyoncé's TV advert promoting her new Fragrance nammed Heat will be banned until 7.30pm. It is well known that every kids of the world are in their bed at 7.30pm.
The funny folks who are responsible of this censorship are the Advertising Standards Authority. They said the advert was too "sexually provocative". They said "Beyoncé's body movements and the camera's prolonged focus on shots of her dress slipping away to partially expose her breasts created a sexually provocative ad that was unsuitable to be seen by young children. We considered that the ad should not have been shown before 7.30pm due to the sexually provocative nature of the imagery."
It only takes one sip to understand why it’s not your average cocktail.
Seemingly innocent as first glance, the Margarita on Audubon’s menu sparks a bit of curiosity. Made with habanero-infused tequila, a bit of guava nectar, lime juice and cilantro, many ask the same question: how bad can it be? The waitress warns it has a little bit of a kick, but after a long day, one could use a little heat.
After the first sip, a slow burning sensation begins to creep up the back of your throat. The next sends a wake up call to your taste buds, which soon begin screaming as the hot pepper oil hits the tongue, sending steam billowing out your ears. Tears start streaming. The symptoms only intensify, and soon, with your body temperature starting to boil, the drink suddenly seems to have evil properties. Yes, it’s that hot.

Okay folks, according to the weather channel, today is supposed to reach 79 degrees. And listen, sudden changes in temperature make me a cranky little blogger. So I have arranged for a helpful little pick-me-up for later on in the day when the heat is rising along with my dastardly temper: a nice little walk to the Chelsea Market to snatch me up some fresh fruit iced treats from People's Pops.
Changes At W Magazine: W Magazine - which doesn't have an editor-in-chief - will soon be searching for one after Conde Nast's plan to cut the magazine's ties to WWD. The two publications were known for sharing staff, Bridget Foley and Patrick McCarthy most notably, with the exception of W's publisher, Gina Sanders. Senior staff of W, including Foley and McCarthy, will now work exclusively for WWD. W Magazine, which was down 45.8% in ad sales for 2009, also was removed from Conde Nast subgroup Fairchild Fashion Group. Conde Nast CEO Chuck Townsend says, "This formally establishes a structure for W consistent with our other consumer magazine titles, and allows FFG the autonomy to focus on their core business-to-business publications and related businesses.”
Reporting on Beyonce's next move isn't typically the most newsworthy of material - unless of
course we're speaking on her Gareth Pugh mishaps - but, she's creating
quite a buzz with her fragrance launch party, scheduled tonight in
Union Square.
Although we've seen her face on plenty of other fragrances, we'll go along with the celebration surrounding Heat as if it's her first.
Apparently, the party is open to all, since my family, who visited over
the weekend, also knew about the event via Macy's employees.
We're not saying whether or not we like the scent, so we'll leave that up to you, should you decide to attend.
The show will be at Union Square and 14th from 6pm to midnight with - wait for it - a light show.
How exciting!
