Coming off Fashion Week we are both exhilarated and exhausted. What a huge season, not only for the designers, but for us! We worked around the clock, resulting in our biggest, most extensive fashion week ever. We covered a combined total of nearly 100 runway shows and parties over the course of the week. We also attended the Fashion 2.0 Awards, Socialyte.co's Bloggers Brunch, Elle & Style360's Accessory Lounge, and CFDA's IMPACT exhibit. If you're wondering if we've slept, the answer is "No!" In addition to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, we also covered NOLCHA, also known as Independent Fashion Week. There we discovered standout, lesser known designers who have been flying under the radar; including Danilo Gabrielli, Vassilis Zoulias, and JetSet Collective.
If your day has been anything like ours, it has been a mashup of exciting, overwhelming, exhausting, inspiring, climactic, and did we mention exciting? With Fashion Week in full swing, we've hardly taken a moment to breathe, let alone eat lunch. (Those Fiber One bars being given out in the tent don't count!) In the past 24 hours we've covered Kaelen, Honor, Duckie Brown, Obakki, Steven Allan, Hyden Yoo, Rachel Comey, and Tadashi Shoji, just to name a few. We also attended the Fashion 2.0 Awards with host Robert Verdi.
The other half of our staff is at Nolcha (Independent Fashion Week) covering a long list of upcoming, independent designers. This, of course, is all leading up to the daily finale: the parties! After parties we'll be attending include Refinery29, Joseph Abboud, Gemma Kahng, Hudson & SCOOP NYC Party, Yigal Azrouel's Fashion Week Fete, Style360, and more. So, check Glam Damn It regularly for up-to-date coverage and keep up with us on Facebook. To get a live look of the shows, follow the official Live From the Runway video feed on Youtube. Also, be sure to peruse our New York Fashion Week Party Tracker for events and parties all fashionistas are invited to!
Happy Fashion Week!
