Fourth of July iPhone and iPad Game Sale

Odds are some of us have already spent a wad of cash on food or fireworks to celebrate Independence Day over the long weekend. No worries. iPad, iPhone, and iPod users can still feel like they’ve got disposable income no matter what today. EA Games is having the biggest sale in its history and users can get some great games for under a dollar. Usually around ten dollars, most of these are 90 % off. They’re not alone. Joining them on the sales front is NAMCO, Gameloft, Glu, and several other publishers.

These are some of the biggest developers for phone gaming, so many of these are a big steal. Classics like Tetris, Pac-Man, Galaga, The Oregon Trail, and Tamagotchi are on the list. Extremely fun and popular modern games such as I Love Katamari, Rayman 2, Mass Effect Galaxy, and Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies are slashed in price. For those that prefer games that increase intelligence and flex their mind’s muscle, there are games like Brain Challenge HD, Brain Exercise with Dr. Kawashima, and Scrabble available.

Here is the list of recommended games according to Engadget:

Apple Pushing For Unlimited Downloads Of Purchased iTunes Music

Recently, Apple Inc. has been negotiating with music companies including Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group Corp, and more, about giving iTunes customers more flexibility and easier access to the music they purchase from the store. Basically, Apple Inc. is arguing for “record companies to give iTunes customers easier access to music they’ve purchased across multiple devices” (Bloomerg.com).

In the deal, customers would be assured “permanent backup of music purchases if the originals are damaged or lost.” In addition, users will also be able to download the same music files to iPad, iPod, and iPhone devices…all from the same iTunes account.

Although, most declined to comment on the subject, the talks are definitely happening and there might be a deal in place midway through 2011.

Catholic Church Approves Confession App

It seems lapsed church-goers will be able to feel less guilty for skipping church for Sunday football. Pope Benedict XVI and Catholic church officials in both the US and UK have approved of a two dollar App for the iPhone that makes confession as simple as a few taps on a touch screen.

The program goes through the sacraments and the user selects ways in which he or she has sinned. They may also factor in things like age, sex, and marital status.

Hot Like A Reb'l Fleur

We all know Rihanna as the crazy-trendy songstress who graces our iPods with her unique voice, and the red carpet with her unique style. And I mean unique in a good way. For the most part, that is. We all mourned the death of her incredibly cute relationship with fellow R&B singer Chris Brown, and have more recently learned of her breakup with Dodgers star Matt Kemp. But who really cares about love anyways?

The ever-present feeling of independence still lingers, as Rihanna prepares to launch the first perfume of her upcoming line of fragrances. The scent will be “fruity and floral”, and bottled in what was inspired by a stiletto heel. As a major shoe-lover, this elegantly styled bottle quickly caught my attention.

Music in Commercials

Ever since the television became a popular medium, commercials have featured catchy tunes to get stuck in the consumer’s minds. The marketing formula is no different now in 2010 as it was in 1960.

Most people nowadays are used to hearing old 1980’s pop tunes, like Madness’s “Our House” in Maxwell House Coffee commercials, or Modern English’s “I Melt with You” in Hershey’s commercials.

Rollingstone Magazine : the Playlist Issue

I've always wondered what famous artists do listen at home, or while driving their Escalade. You probably know that a lot of people who work on TV don't actually watch it at home. I was also curious to see if my favorite artists shared my tastes. I was astonished to see that Chris Martin from Coldplay could actually be able to listen some good sh!t (hate Coldplay).

You have here fifty different artists ready to share their Top 10 songs on one theme they care about. Wanna know what MGTM's 10 best psychedelic songs are ? Are you curious to see what king of blues does Mick Jagger listen at home ? I find that pretty entertaining.

iTunes Is Proud to Present: The Beatles

For the first time since iTunes started selling music online in 2003, the Beatles--probably the most awaited band to be featured for purchase--is finally available, in its entirety, for a mere $150.

And $150 gets you a lot. The Beatles Box Set yields pretty much everything the band ever produced, including all their studio albums, the Past Masters collection, all A and B sides, and a lot of extra goodies, including photos and documentaries. The freebies that go along with the inclusion of the Beatles on iTunes, too, are notable, featuring old-school advertisements, numerous videos, and a documentary of the band's first concert in the United States.
