The MOMA PS1 Warm Up series has quickly become one of the most anticipated summer music events in New York City. Kicking off its third year, this year's lineup collects some of the most interesting and influential electronic acts into one, summer-long marathon. Jaime xx will be here on August 4th, which, if I'm not mistaken, will be his first solo show in the US. If that's not enough to get you excited, Mathew Dear, Sepalcure, Light Asylum and Pearson Sound will also be playing sets! Seriously, if you're not jumping out of your seat, get on my level already.
Weird 1960's consumerist advertising aside, it is really nice to listen to DJ sets without being surrounded by 300 sweaty people you're trying not to touch. It also makes for a more satisfying musical experience, as you can pause, re-listen, and look up tracks as you go. Although I should add, however, please don't listen to these on your Macbook speakers or ipod headphones... Get yourself some real gear (or at least a decent pair of headphones) and hear what you've been missing. Seriously. Please.
