JAMES FRANCO
Spring Breakers, set to hit theater nationwide on March 22nd, follows four party girl best friends on their ambitious quest to have the most epic, balls-to-the-wall spring break possible. In an attempt to save up enough money to get out of their boring college dorm, they hatch a plan to burglarize a fast food joint after a wild night of partying. They make it to spring break paradise only to have their plans come to a screeching halt when the girls, wearing only bikinis, are arrested on drug charges. Hungover and scared when they appear before the judge, an infamous drug and arms dealing rapper, Alien (James Franco), bails them out of jail. The foursome’s freedom comes with a catch though as Alien takes them under his wing, expecting the girls to carry out his dirty work in return for his good deed, leading them onto the craziest vacation they could’ve ever dreamed up.
R.E.M.'s latest and final much anticipated album, Collapse into Now, features a new song called "Blue." The song's video features Lindsay Lohan, as a Hollywood washed up actress frolicking and posing for fashion photographer Terry Richardson, directed by none other than Jack of all trades, James Franco.
The five minute-video displays shaky and out of focus Hollywood iconic hot spots like the Chateau Marmont and Roosevelt Hotel, where Lohan is being photographed after a typical night out on the town.
Franco also makes appearances in the video dressed in drag, cheekishly posing for the cameran donned in a blonde wig and red lipstick.
R.E.M. announced last year that after 31 years together, they're soon calling it quits.
Patti Smith, the Bohemian Queen, is adapting her memoir, Just Kids for the big screen. The book was released two-years ago and there’s been nothing but buzz about the roles of Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe (Smith’s partner) since the project was first announced.
Apparently, Ms. Smith has a pair of leads in mind and her choices might just surprise you – Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. But, don’t judge, her reasoning is pretty spot on. Stewart is "not conventionally beautiful," and Pattinson is "a bit shy, and a bit stoic."
So, who else is in the running? She mentions Mia Wasikowska, and even suggests Saoirse Ronan. As for Mapplethorpe, we think James Franco could be a sweet match.

April 19, 1978, changed Hollywood when James Franco was born. Franco is truly a gem in Hollywood, with his dashing good looks, nonchalant attitude, and amazing acting capability. He keeps his private life out of the tabloids but keeps entertainment junkies on their toes with his amazing performances.
He made us laugh in Your Highness, a stoner comedy similar to his previous hit, Pineapple Express, where he played a pot dealer and gave us one of his most hilarious performances of his career. He took a more serious route when he played a rock climber in the acclaimed, 127 Hours, and made us cry and see how truly gifted he is as an actor and he was even nominated for an Academy Award for his performance as Aron Ralston.
Telling James Franco to be quiet is about as easy as making children eat their vegetables. Good thing in both cases, they manage to stay adorable and our sappy hearts would forgive them easily.
Coming from the unexpected success of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Franco stopped by Conan O'Brien's late-night talk show (TBS) Tuesday night to have a little chat. Topic of choice? His acting career, first and foremost...and also his brief encounter with potential amateur porn.
Rupert Grint lets out his inner fanboy at the Rise of the Planet of the Apes premiere in Los Angeles, 07/29/11.
The 22-year-old actor surprised movie fans by showing his support for friend/Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton at Hollywood Boulevard. Bromance is in the air, just look at Rupert's shirt: 'I <3 Tom Felton'. How cute! At first glance, you'd think the twosome just randomly crashed the premiere for some good old bonding time, but Tom is actually in the film! Rise of the Planet of the Apes includes leads James Franco and Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto, whom were both present in the premiere as well.
Doesn't James Franco remind you of that Sour Patch Kid commercial? One minute he's sweet, the next he's running his mouth about something he don't like. At least they're both cute.
Now that he can put "has co-hosted the Academy Awards with Anne Hathaway in 2011" on his resume, one would assume James Franco has learned to keep his opinions to himself once in a while. However, the saying that has been proven right time and time again - actions speak louder than words - was evident in his performance during the star-studded event. Franco looked bored, annoyed and all in all, just did not seem to give a f**k. What was even odder was the fact that he was nominated in the Best Actor category for his work in 127 Hours!
The 32-year-old actor will teach a class in directing at New York University's Karbar Institute of Film and Television. The 127 Hours actor will start working at the beginning of fall, and "he will be teaching a section of a third year directing class in the graduate film division. It will comprise of 10 to 12 students," said John Tintori, chair of the graduate film programme.
Students will have to create a short film adaptation of a Louise Gluck's poem.
Franco is currently studying for a Phd in English at Yale University.
James Franco was bad as an Academy Awards host. Very bad. To sum things up he sucked. And Oscar joke writer Bruce Vilanch doesn't get over it!
He opened up to New York magazine's Vulture blog about Franco's flop.
"He has so many balls in the air, he didn't get to town till Thursday before the show on Sunday," Vilanch told Vulture about Franco's busy schedule. "I don't think he realized how big a deal it is to do it until he was actually confronted with it. I think he thought he would kind of ... I don't know what he thought.
Blacklisted by the movie industry, round-trip between rehab-court-home... Lindsey struggles to find work after all the troubles she's been through. But is she that desperate?
Reports say that the 24-year-old actress would have signed a $3.3 million deal to front an explicit photographic - sex - book which will contain full-frontal nudity and graphic shots. The provocative American photographer Terry Richardson convinced the Mean Girl to pose for him alongside her former love interest James Franco.
"Terry Richardson has persuaded Lindsay and James to get involved. He has assured them it will be provocative but tasteful. There will be a lot of nakedness -- some of it graphic and suggestive -- but it will be a real statement book. Obviously there will be comparisons to Madonna's 1992 'Sex' book. But James and Lindsay believe theirs will be classier." said a source.
