It's true. We're denim fanatics. If our 30+ pair collection of every color, style, and brand is any indication, we may even be denim addicts. You own a pair of jeans, don't you? It is easy to assume that most people in the United States do, as we tend to sell 450 million pairs a year!
And yet, here is a not-so-fun fact: jeans aren't exactly great for our environment. To make our jeans, cotton crops are mostly likely doused in pesticides, fibers are stained with toxic dyes, and the resulting fabric is sandblasted and chemically softened. Another scary fact: cotton needs a lot of water; it can take up to 15,000 gallons of water to produce enough cotton for ....one pair of jeans.

SVICA Jeans released the first jeans wear product earlier this week. The new addition to the Kansas based ready to wear brand is among a collection of customizable designer jeans made exclusively on their online store. The new jeans are featured with zippers on the outer part of the material to accommodate the size and shape of the consumer. The threads are featured in array of bold colors and patterns.

The lastest food truck launched by the Gap, appropriately named, "Pico de Gap", is a little bizarre, but note-worthy nonetheless. As a means to promote their 1969 denim collection, the Gap has teamed up with several big name celebrity chefs such as Ryan Scott and Marcel Vigneron (of Top Chef fame), Katie Lee (of Billy Joel fame), and Rick Gresh to create an outside-the-box dining-promotion hybrid.
Two signature recipe tacos (crafted by each respective chef) and a drink will cost you just $1.69. If you can show proof of a same-day Gap purchase, your food is free. Twenty dollar coupons off the denim collection will be given out with every order and some lucky winners will even score a free pair of jeans. Win. Win. Win.
With a wide range of pant styles now available year-round, take the time to find the cut and brand that boosts your body confidence. Ultra-fitted trousers will lift and bring attention to a flat butt. Lightweight denim and fluid fabrics that flare will fall flatteringly over thicker thighs; select a pair of pants that present you in your best form from all angles. Those with gazelle-like legs can benefit from the extra-long inseam and matchstick-style cuts available in many stores.

The Jean Shop
Well I have a favorite belt, yes I’m blogging about a belt. I’ve had this belt since college and trust me that was many many years ago. Anyway, The belt is worn in just right. It's a dark brown heavy leather belt which has been worn to a point where the belt now looks light brown and weathered. It's just beautiful and perfect. The problem is, it's torn in the back and now my lovely belt needs a replacement.
I was at the Apple store on 14th street and walked the block for a cab and passed by the Jean Shop. This place is amazing. Jeans and jackets hang on the wall in all shades of leather and denim, belts and shoes in display everywhere. They offer any style, color, wash - whatever you like in jeans.
