Same Sky Changing the World One Jewelry Piece at a Time

"We employ, you empower" is the Same Sky mantra.

Established with the hopes to create a jewelry line that could make a difference for women everywhere and build-up a forgotten community, the brand formed following the atrocities of the Rwandan genocide. A genocide that destroyed the lives and hope of a nation.

Same Sky operates based on a two prong idea: one piece can pay the healthcare for an artisan for one year, meanwhile they learn and educate themselves on how stay healthy and avoid transimitting HIV to their children through birth. (Approximately one quarter of a million women were raped and affected with HIV/AIDS as a result of the Rwandan Genocide.) Through Same Sky these women are given marketable skills and consistent work to provide for them and their families.

As Fashion Week in New York City hits the final stretch, a select few of privileged guests braved the cold on Monday evening to gather at Tao Downtown in Downtown Manhattan, where they were invited by Television star and "Dancing with the Stars" veteran, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Robert Kheit to preview Cantamessa Men, a high-end collection of men's jewelry. It was a night to remember with a slew of familiar faces including fellow DWTS alumn, Tony Dovolani, broadway rock star, Constantine, as well as Disney starlet and budding fashionista Zendaya. Spring Bling!

Wave goodbye to winter, because it's time to ring in spring, and as you tuck away bulky overcoats and infinity scarves, make room for shine and sparkle to add that finishing touch to your springtime wardrobe. This season be prepared to pair minimalist pieces with pale shade garments, as well as colorful jewelry with eccentric prints. These springtime treasures are sure to make you stand out in a crowd.

Some would say the runways of NYC's Fashion Week were all about the accessory. And jewelry was a key staple in perfecting those final looks. Metallic took center stage with designers like Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy and Dries Van Noten. They utilized glossy metal finishes paired with pale colored garments as backdrops. This is a perfect way to add sleek touches to flirty dresses and girly silhouettes. Metal fringe and chunky bracelets are easy go-to items.
