Lynne Hiriak Speaks On & Through Cardigan

We can scout design schools around the world until the soles of our Louboutins turn black. Or we can do it wearing a Balmain coat until its Swarvoski crystals fall off. But it's guaranteed that when we ask the students of each design school where they'd like to end up after graduation - we bet they'll tell you Marc Jacobs. Although, there's always the ones who desire a more sophisticated label who may say Thakoon, Polo Ralph Lauren - or heck, even Michael Kors.

Marc Jacobs' Fun Facts!

We must say, it's quite entertaining to witness Robert Duffy, of Marc Jacobs, become a Twitter hit.

The right-hand man of the famed designer has been dropping hints and answering questions that many of us probably have had for decades - we wonder how Marc feels about it all - thus, it only adds to the fascination of his label.

We recently found a few fun facts via Duffy's Twitter, especially regarding the curvy anti-size zero girls:

"We have sizes 0-16. We sell mostly 2-6 in our stores. Thats a fact for our business. Our wholesale business is very different . . . Yes we go up to 16. Few people buy them. I wish they would. We keep making them. So we stock in our stores only to 14. No one buys them."

Marc By Marc Scouts Queens For Spring Ad.

Either Marc Jacobs has a new it boy for his Marc by Marc Jacobs bevy, or students from Queens - who love music - are the new model sensations.

Either way, we like the Spring 2010 and fresh face, Briane Hatcher. Hatcher, who has walked the label's show for 2 seasons, became Marc's casting director's fave.

But, enough about him and onto Juergen Teller's extraordinary photography and location choice.

The New Face of Vivienne Westwood

The new face for Vivienne Westwood’s spring 2009 campaign is Pamela Anderson. After seeing Anderson in her Gold Label Collection gold Lurex dress at her spring Red Label show in London this past September, Westwood decided the actress/model would be a perfect fit for her next campaign.

The ads feature Anderson as well as Andreas Kronthaler, Westwood’s husband and creative partner, and Westwood herself. Set at Anderson’s trailer in Malibu, the group was shot by photographer Juergen Teller, and all of Westwood’s clothing lines were used (Gold Label, Red Label, Anglomania, and MAN). Look for the ads in the February issues of fashion publications worldwide.
