A Great Mix: Dancing and Mingling

What is the most inherently understood, widely recognized form of communication that spans the entire globe? If you said mathematics, you are wrong. It’s dancing. Bee’s do it. Birds do it, too. Even if you're already enrolled in a zumba class with a friend, finding a great dance club is one of the best ways to relieve stress and have a great time meeting people. Consider these great dance spots next time you got that itch to bust a move.

Ballet Hispanico's Dance Into Fashion

Dressed to kill, and smelling spectacular after a tour of the Sephora Sensorium, Joonbug headed over to Kiss & Fly for the Junior Society of Ballet Hispanico's fundraising event Dance Into Fashion. Stepping into the world of fantasy yet again as the doors to Kiss & Fly opened to reveal the decadent red soaked entrance. The thick red curtains spread open to welcome all the donors, dancers, and partygoers as we ventured into the dark meadow-like lounge.

The Spin Crowd Got Dizzy At Kiss & Fly Tuesday Night

Last night I joined Johnathan Cheban, founder of Command PR and star of the newest E! series The Spin Crowd, at Kiss & Fly. Kiss & Fly ranks high on the scale of exclusivity, nestled in the Meatpacking district with red carpet and velvet rope entrances.

Inside, there are 28 VIP tables and a huge bar and dance floor, all of which were perfectly packed for this reality star. I showed up around midnight to find Joonbug's newest friend Wilson Henriques at the door, leading in his group of VIPs ahead of a crowd of office types and girls in their highest heels and shortest hemlines.

The High Energy And Versatility of DJ Steve Powers

Born and raised in Jersey, Steve Powers knew at a young age that he wanted to pursue the entertainment and music culture that the Big Apple had to offer. In college, Steve's aspirations became a reality, as he quickly became the go-to emcee for spring break Acapulco. Today, Steve is one of the most sought after DJ's in the country, performing at the hottest nightclubs in NYC and all over the nation. His music defies the boundaries of any genre or style, which is perhaps why superstars such as Rihanna, Derek Jeter and Leonardo DiCaprio have enjoyed his performances. We were lucky enough to sit down with the man whose incredible energy is able to get anyone on the dance floor.

Gay Club in Austin Asks For Trouble

When I think of the American South, I think of hot temperatures, suffocating humidity, and sweaty, glistening bodies rhythmically writhing to house music in an ecstasy induced Sodom. You know what that means, boys: We’re going to a gay bar!

There has been a report straight from Austin, TX from someone who saw a sign that a Kiss and Fly was going to open in the Texas capital. The logo is the same, so DBTH assumes that it’s either a licensing agreement or identity theft. But, to add a twist to it all, Kiss and Fly Austin has labeled itself — unlike the NYC version — as “Austin's Only Gay Nightclub.” That probably means it’s not the same establishment.

Formerly 'Aer' this club has been revamped in a Romanesque style, featuring a ceiling that mimics the Sistine Chapel, Renaissance statues, and ornate columns. This 450 capacity club is outfitted with 28 VIP tables each with a podium allowing fashionistas to dance above the crowd. For those looking for some privacy, 'The Temple' is available – a giant tent that offers some seclusion from the rich, young, and jet setting crowd that packs the place every night of the week.

Une Petit RDV Des Amis

RDV is the new hot spot to open in Chelsea. RDV, short for rendezvous, launched in October 28th in hopes of exceeding its famous neighbors Bagatelle and Kiss and Fly. Hidden under the trendy and chic Bagatelle restaurant, RDV design combines the classic and clean taste of its upstairs neighbor and a flare of Victorian influence with modern art designed by David Graziano. Although petite in size and unassuming in location, this is a powerhouse venue backed by some big names. Big time nightlife players like Randy Scott, Aymeric Clemente and Remi Laba, added their unique style to insure the club's neighborhood success.
