Kris, Jahan, and Yasmine of Krewella sat down with us this past Saturday in Washington, DC before their volcanic and electrifying performance at Echostage. They indulged us with their humor and spunk, while giving us a peek into their future plans, their current touring experience, and the direction of dance music.
You guys went out and showed Good Morning America how you “Live for the Night”; when did you find out that you’d be performing for national television, and what do you think this means for the future of dance music?

This was the Chicago-based EDM group's first major TV network appearance, and, quite notably, the first major national morning TV performance ever for an EDM act.
That being said, here is the historical moment, in case you missed it!
With the biggest crowd the F Shed has collected since its recent opening, Krewella was well received by upstate New York. Packed from front to back, the crowd almost reached capacity as more than 4,000 tickets were sold for last nights show. With a crowd that were dressed for Halloween celebrations you could tell Syracuse was ready to get one of the biggest party weekends of the year started. With the help of two amazing openers - Candyland and Seven Lions - getting the crowd pumped, people were just itching to get wet with the headlining trio.
Melding together a mixture of trance, electro and big-room house, Dutch duo W&W are dominating dance-floors and festivals worldwide with their affinity for hard-hitting performances. Ascending 11 spots on the DJ Mag Top 100 list to land themselves the number 14 ranking this year, Willem van Hanegem and Wardt van der Harst have solidified their status as an unstoppable pair of production aces. We had a chance to chat with the guys after their TomorrowWorld performance about their recent collaborations, their distaste for remixes and the evolution of their sound.
EDM heavy-hitters, Nicky Romero and Krewella have released their new single "Legacy" today (October 18) on iTunes. The instant classic has been bubbling since its release last week, and now fans can get a copy for themselves. Stream the single below, and grab your copy of "Legacy" here.
For some, Halloween is the best holiday of the year. In honor of National Mean Girls Day, “[In Girl World,] Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.” Well said. But in the dance music world, Halloween is just another great excuse to throw a party, and to say that RPM knows the tricks of the trade is a huge understatement.
Pier of Fear is returning to New York, and this year, Halloween will be celebrated over the span of five days. This is more than double the amount of parties as 2012, which consisted of Knife Party’s The Haunted House Tour and All Mixed Up featuring Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso, Otto Knows, and Carl Kennedy. Girls, this means that you’re probably going to have to purchase five different costumes so that when you mupload, you’re not wearing the same exact outfit you wore the day before. Unless you have no shame. In which case, all the more to you.
Krewella's "Live for the Night" has been a certified smash since it's Soundcloud debut on July 3, 2013, and now it has gotten and extra twist, thanks to the musical stylings of German producer, Deniz Koyu, and Spanish DJ, Danny Avila.
The hit single, which is the reason for Krewella's resounding, swift success, is now something fresh and new. The European pair behind this new remix have produced a high-energy track that pays specific attention to the main melodic riff, lifting it to its due glory, then throwing it with fervor across synth lines. The result? A dance track with electro hooks that would captivate any ear.
The song is available exclusively on Spotify.
