Spring Street Style Contest Winner!

NYC came to Boston last weekend as I took a trip to my favorite New England city to attend Anthem's "Ladies Luxury Escape" event in the Millennium Bostonian Hotel.

While meeting some of the incredible vendors featured at the event, I also got to meet our Spring Street Style Contest winner, Caitlin Rodgers (pictured, right).

Ladies Luxury Escape

This past Saturday, May 1st, the Ladies Luxury Escape was held at the Millenium Bostonian Hotel downtown in Government Center. 47 exhibitors placed their goods on display for dozens of groups of women during the afternoon-long event. Hypnotiq liqueur provided cocktails, along with complimentary rock candy and lip gloss in their signature blue color. Booths featured jewelry, purses, clothing, photography and much more. In case you missed it, here are some highlights:

Wick-It Cool Candles, based out of New Hampshire, showcased their body candles which come in over 110 different scents. Infused with vitamin E and jojoba oil, you can not only burn these 100% soy candles, but owners can use the wax as a deep moisturizer on dry hands, feet, or elbows. The labels and fantastic scents are also customizable for special occasions or companies; Harley Davidson put their logo on some that smell just like leather.

Photographer Allana, from local studio Ars Magna, promoted her Boudoir Portrait Sessions. The MassArt grad, who has been featured nationally for her wedding photographs, said that most of her clients book sessions in order to give their partner a sexy gift. Her stunning photographs were both sensual and playful, while remaining beautiful and tasteful. "I am for the sessions to be an empowering experience for my clients," Allana explained.

Beneski Chiropractic & Wellness Center discussed their services ranging from massage therapy, chiropractic care, and nutrition counseling. They also offered inexpensive fifteen-minute massages on site.

Lila Clothing, started by a UMass junior, sold their super cute, eco-friendly t-shirts. Adorned with phrases and illustrations like "peace", "love" or "tree hugger", the company is just as socially conscious as their products imply. Lila's shirts are made with 100% bamboo viscose printed with water-based ink (not to mention silky soft), and 20% of all proceeds go to the Dignitas Project ( helping educate Kenyan Children.

Local upstart Envy conducted a live demonstration of their mobile airbrush tanning studio for attendees. The company specializes in bridal parties and "girl's night outs" and provides clients with a UV-free, non-streaky, bronze (not orange!) tan.

In2Design featured stunning handmade jewelry with semi-precious stones, sterling silver, and 14k gold. Started recently by two Swedish emigrants, the young business is sold in over 300 boutiques around the world. We especially liked their lariat-style jewelry which would add a touch of sophistication to any outfit.

Representatives from BeautiControl gave complimentary mini-spa treatments to interested attendees. Women were raving about their eye, face and lip treatments and purchasing like crazy. "My eyes feel like they're super awake now," exclaimed one woman. "I didn't realize I was that tired!"

Spring Street Style Contest: Announcing our winners

Our 2nd place winner:

Anna, (above right) flaunts some attitude in her Current/Elliott jeans, Loeffler Randall shoes, and a classic button-down with her own added twist: demonstrating her personal sense of whimsy, Anna printed "Why can't I be you" mirrored back-to-back down the front. Cute and clever.

Anna is 27 years old living in Beverly, MA. She currently works as a Sales Associate for Barney's New York and has won some excellent prizes from our friends at Beauti Control, DiSpagna Designs, and Lila Clothing.
