LARA STONE
As Nicholas K, Nellie Partow and Cardigan by Lynne prep for a exceptional sample sale hosting their newest Spring/Summer 2010 bevies (5/20-24 Th,F 10-8pm, S 11-6p, Su 11-4p, @ 2 Great Jones Street), invitations to this seasons coveted warm night parties are being shaped and delivered out to guests who are likely to have fun and mindfully dress the part. Over the past weekend, old friends and new friends alike, gathered on a dynamic Brooklyn rooftop; as I questioned my choice of wearing a Lanvin top, a navy blazer and vintage cuffed twill shorts. Was it too much? And, prior to the night’s event, why was it so complex to help friends decide what to don to a Brooklyn party?
Tuesday night I caught a brief ending to an open Q&A with Ruffian designers, Brian Wolk and Claude Morais. The design duo spoke on the craftsmanship of their Fall 2010 bevy- taking note of their silk blouses, flaring knee-length skirts and cropped jackets. Brian expressed major enthusiasm when speaking about the sequined jersey dresses, which required the designers to send them out for handmade work. The small, yet intimate event allowed attendees to roam the studio admiring the designers sketches, artwork and wall of inspiration. The collection was partially inspired by Van Gogh's Starry Nights, a theme that carried through the vintage arrangement of images within the design room. The evening was hosted by Friends of Fashion, a national social enterprise created to support the fashion industry through scheduled exclusive events, private shopping parties and designer meet-and-greet opportunities. What is it about Terry Richardson that lands him an applause and more work after a public scandal?
One victim from his alleged sexual assaults may suggest it's his manhood, while the remaining industry insiders may just see him as an innocent being, good at what he does and honest about his obsession with women, sex and creepiness.
Regardless, Richardson is back to work. Contrary to what many were hoping for, the recent allegations against him had no lasting effect.
Coco Rocha is in full marriage preparation mode, happily updating the industry with every detail for the nuptials she plans to exchange with interior designer, James Conran.
Pretty soon, we won't have too much to look forward to. That is, after the model walks down the aisle.
Unlike Lara Stone and her wedding details, Rocha has confirmed Zac Posen to design her dress, confirmed her summer wedding date (June 9th) and recently confirmed that the wedding will take place at the same location where Conran proposed. According to Elle Canada:
Coco Rocha is wasting no time in beating Lara Stone (who wil have Ricardo Tisci of Givenchy design her gown) to the altar. Rocha recently tweeted her engagement to her interior designer, James Conran - and now she's tweeting about how she convinced designer, Zac Posen to create her wedding dress for her June 9th wedding. Her tweet reads:
The LOVE magazine staff has just released the multiple covers for their third issue, and we, well, love it!
Conversely, we don't know if we love the magazine or Katie Grand in general more - but, we still die for Katie and her 5-minute off-the-runway selections she brags of via her blog.
Even more interesting?
Even though Katie sought to capture the diversity of beauty on her multiple LOVE mag covers, plenty are in an uproar over the lack curvy models.
We beg to differ - of course - considering Beth Ditto graced the covers, and that was just enough or more for us. Oops!

Does this look familiar to you?
The headpiece, that is.
Just a little Dior Haute Couture Spring 2008 to me. But enough of that. Givenchy was full of feathers and voluminous top silhouettes for Spring 2010 couture season.
And thankfully, Suzy Menkes wasn't as bored during this show as she was during Dior's.
With sequins and sparkles bedazzling numerous gowns - we barely noticed Lara Stone's trend of couture shorts, in addition to the plethora of risque jumpsuits that walked the runway.
Divine!
And of course, the ending swept us off our feet when the good-looking Ricardo Tisci made his exit.
It's quite pleasing when a model doesn't feel compelled to embark on a career as an actress. A host or guest reporter? Okay. But Oscar-chasing gals who depend on their designer friends for red carpet looks - no thank you!
Coco Rocha, on the other hand, is very adorable. The supermodel, who has walked her massive share of runways, lent a few lines to a reporting gig sometime last year, which has led to her latest assignment from ET Canada - reporting from the Grammys later this month. However, Coco knows when enough is enough. Most importantly, she knows when to return to the runway. Only this time, Coco hints that she won't be walking out until the end, to take a bow for her own show. At least, that's what she hopes is to come in September. The model-turned-designer has been working on a dress collection - the name of which she promises will be phenomenal, but remains a secret. She hints to The Daily that she believes in high fashion, affordable clothing, and loves the Victorian 1800s. With so much on her plate, who knows if we will ever see her sly smirk on the catwalk again?
Just weeks after Lara Stone showed the world she's capable of competing in more than one tongue wrestling match with boyfriend, British comedian David Walliams, Stone and Walliams (moreso Walliams) announced their recent engagement.
Take that Kate Moss!
Walliams suprised Stone on a job in Brazil, subsequent to receiving blessings from Stone' parents.
Her ring?
Well, in humble model fashion of course, it looks very delicate - with a large stone, surrounded by several complementing diamonds - and it's vintage
Even better, Walliams is rumored to have already requested Giles Deacon to design for the wedding. Where did this man come from, and are there anymore left?
As avid fashionistas, we sometimes tend to be a little too fanatical, to the max, and we often don't do what the creators of fashion themselves do - take a break! And if you're practicing my mirror image, then you doubless spent your holiday frantically obsession over what everyone else was doing on their holiday. Take Marc Jacobs for instance - sneaking out on Louis Vuitton and their Spring 2010 fur foxtails to lug a green Hermès to the beach in St. Barts with beau Lorenzo Martone. And, though I will leave the unequivocal details of their vacation to Martones' Twitter account - the two couldn't be more lovable. On the other hand, at least they opted to only tweet about their sexual shenanigans, whilst supermodel Lara Stone invited the photogs into a bursting make out session with British boyfriend, David Walliams. The twosome hardly reached up for air during their vacay to Los Cabos, Mexico. I guess Balmain wasn't sticky enough, hmm? And lastly, serving a humble piece of pie, supermodel Kate Moss arrived in Thailand with on-and-off boyfriend, Jamie Hince. Unexpectedly, out of the 3 couples, Moss donned the most clothing, wearing a classic LBD and flirty top. Or maybe we should rather say that she donned clothing for the longest, until it was all-white bikini time. Work, girlfriend!
