I Love (Air)Rock 'N' Roll

I must admit, as weird as this sounds, I love a man who can play a good invisible instrument. When Mike serenaded Phoebe on Friends with his air piano in Central Perk, I swooned. Now, there's a whole competition here in Vegas just for these performers to showoff their craft and for people like me to drool over them.

This month marks the beginning of a set of monthly competitions to find the Hendrix of air guitar here in Las Vegas. This is all thanks to Resodence, who has created the Las Vegas Air Guitar Association, which is linked to the U.S. Air Guitar Championship (yes, that does exist).

Theory of Flight is "Within Reach" of National Fame

Within the past two months, Las Vegas mainstream rockers Theory of Flight have opened for musical headliners like Everclear and Train and it looks like pretty soon they'll be looking for opening acts of their own. This year alone the band has won Mix 94.1's Battle for Bite Las Vegas, recorded a music video for their song "Set the Night on Fire," headlined for Hollywood Music in Media Awards showcase which earned them a nomination in the rock category for the ballad "Can't You See," and released their debut album, Within Reach. The band is even now currently in New York City recording with Grammy Award winners Bob Cutarella and Fran Cathcart to finalize tracks before their album is released nationally this spring.
