LINDA FARGO
Over the weekend I darted back to Bergdorf Goodman to catch the ending of Pamela Love's preview on 5F. I was almost distracted by Linda Fargo (Fashion Director and Senior VP of Store Presentation of Bergdorf) challenging the shoe department, but I remembered to remain focused on what I had come for. And boy am I glad I did, for I was in for quite a treat. Pamela's bevy was shown in a glass case, surrounded by a plethora of fascinating jewelry designers - yet nothing could compare to Pamela's young take on trendy jewelry with such intimate detailing that one would miss it in the blink of an eye. My guest was eager to try on some of the pieces, and though we were bummed out by the jewelry's initial refusal fit her hands and wrists, Pamela proudly demonstrated her ability to adjust her designs to size. Designs that, from first impression, looked intensely delicate, we assumed they'd break at the first sign of being mistreated. Our favorite piece must have been the item Pamela chose to wear that day - a heishi bead bracelet with oxidized silver, copper and pewter beads on distressed leather. On second thought, everything was our favorite - from the double snake ring with emeralds and diamonds, to the mix-and-match of sapphires and arrowhead inspirations. Not bad for a former film major who opted to take a different course in life, collaborating with some of the best labels and publications in fashion. Be on the lookout for Pamela Love during your next stroll through Bergdorf, or visit her site for more info.
Last night was amazing night in NYC as I marched uptown to Bergdorf Goodman to socialize with Linda Fargo, Leigh Lezark, Daphne Guinness and more.
The event was to celebrate Steven Klein: 30 Seasons With Akris. The label's designer, Albert Kriemler, was also in attendance. Besides the amazing and devastatingly handsome catering and bar staff, the fourth floor was filled with delightful Akris-clad mannequins and images of Akris clothing throughout the years.
