LOS ANGELES
In Los Angeles it's hard to cypher through the talented and the unfortunately talentless. Everyone claims to have the skills to make it to the big time, but let's be honest, in this day and age everyone thinks they can DJ. This is not the case for LA's newest young talent Agendas, who is a producer/ singer/ drummer/ guitarist/etc. The artist, formerly known as Jake Weary, has proven through his eclectic and exciting sound that he is a truly talented musician. Hailing from Montclair, New Jersey, Agendas has been working hard to produce top notch tunes. He released his self titled EP in April 2011. Yes, he is from New Jersey but before your mind wanders to the Jersey Shore buffoons, think twice, you won't be seeing a bundle of Bros obnoxiously fist pumping on the dance floor. This artist keeps his beats classy.
Founded by Gary Richards in 2007, The HARD imprint has taken the concert and festival world by storm. Starting out as a singular, but excellently curated NYE festival, HARD has grown into one of the largest concert brands working today. Putting on dozens of shows and events each year, they continue their gnarly showings with this year's HARD Summer Festival, August 3-4, right in downtown Los Angeles.
This year's HARD Summer features some of the biggest names in EDM and rock, including Skrillex, Bloc Party, Boys Noize, Miike Snow, Nero, Bloody Beetroots, James Murphy, Squarepusher, Chromeo and more!
Techibeats and Danceland have teamed up to bring the Los Angeles bass music community a show of epic proportions.
Mimosa resides at the pinnacle of big room, dance floor shaking party music. His ever expanding talent makes him one of the most versatile producers and exciting performers in the industry. His sets are packed with his classic remixes and bass heavy originals. Indescribable energy. Check out this video of him live at the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville earlier this year.
ill.Gates's inclusion in this lineup makes it a truly special event. He is a pioneer amongst Ableton junkies and bass heads alike. When it comes to outrageous productions of beat driven maximalism, he sits on the throne with his frequent studio collaborators Bassnectar and Jantsen. His ingenuity and originality are unparalleled. Check out his free download archive here.
Metronomy is back to give their Southern Californian fans another chance to catch their unbelievable show. Their standout tour has revived their fan base with outstanding performances throughout the early festival season. Their sets at Ultra Music Festival and Coachella have asserted them at the peak of live, band based electronic music. Their high energy, yet funky sound and unparalleled talent make them a must see for everyone. Not to mention that El Rey is one of the best places to catch a a show in LA.
Check out this video of one of their most popular songs, The Look. It is a mood shifting, beautifully arranged ballad; a perfect portrait of their unique sound. This music video is a great match to their artistic and genuine take on production and performance.
See you there!

Last month, West Hollywood’s 'Eveleigh' started their Sunday Supper series, a monthly dinner bringing seasonal produce to the table along with a 30-minute session to teach various cooking techniques as well as other food presentations and traditions.
Each month will run on a central idea. Last month’s dinner was very lamb-centric with cuts provided by Windrose Farm. Chef Jordan Toft also treated diners to a butcher demonstration which included cutting up the entire hogget. He showed how to get the best part of the animal to enjoy for dinner.
