5 Easy Steps to go From Daytime Drab to Nighttime Fab

Every girl-on-the-go is pinched for time at some point or another, and every now and then, she may lack the inspiration to make a quick turnaround from the daytime look to one she can wear out on the town. Well have no fear busy beauties, Joonbug is here! We have come up with 5 great tips that can help you to create the perfect day-to-night look without having to stop at home or pack a duffle on your way to work.

Tip 1: Let’s start with shoes- Slip into a pair of your fave heels!

There is no better way to turn a day look into nighttime style than by ditching the flats and pumping it up (literally!) For those who don’t want to endure the “torture” of the 5-inch stiletto, we have the perfect solution to the misconception that beauty=pain. Check out the Cole Haan collection by Maria Sharpova. With concealed NIKE AIR technology leather, lined leather mid-sole, and stacked heel rubber sole, these babies add comfort to style (also available at Macy’s and Nordstrom). Once that’s taken care of, throw on a pair of your favorite skinny jeans and you’re good to go. We know, not all are fans of the skinny jeans, and if this speaks to you, try a trendy wedge sandal with your simple skirt or dress. It is the perfect variation of high-heels that is comfortable and sure to add flair to your look.

The Fashionista's Guide to NYC's Best Shopping Displays

As cliché as it sounds- it’s the most wonderful time of the year. Even scientifically speaking- shopping produces endorphins- our happiness drug; is there any other time that we shop more than just before Christmas? That, paired with the out-of-this-world adverts kindly created by NYC classics like Henri Bendel and Saks Fifth Avenue, have us practically eating out of the palm of their deliciously gorgeous, string-lit, ornament-strewn, hand. But before any holiday purchases are made, some window shopping is in order. The window displays of NYC are a little piece of magic created intricately for anyone who still believes in Christmas. And while yes, it’s a ploy to get you inside, you can still enjoy the beauty for what it’s worth- and maybe score some incredible stocking stuffers (Think Bendel bangle or Serendipity-esque gloves from Bloomies).

GLAM DAMN IT Fashion Focus was on Fire!
Fashion Focus 2011

Preview Party

The preview party, which took place on Monday at the swank Public Chicago Hotel, was a stunning start to a week of lavish clothing and stylish accessories. Gathered in a fire place-warmed backroom was some of Chicago’s fashion heavy weights. Seventy or so elite individuals, clad in black, were cluttered with purpose, chatting, and drinking at their free glasses of wine as if there were morsels of gold waiting for them at the bottom.
Style executants like Lauren Lien, Sioban Darcy, the owner of Nunu Collection, Kiyonna, Miriam Cecilia, and Mario Tricoci; local media outlets like WCIU, and style blogs such as stylepluscurves.com, were all there, making their rounds.
Beyond the busier room was a soft wooden-wall room, which housed large candles, wooden tables, dark carpet, a small parade of tea light candles and couture grandeur. The elegant low-key atmosphere was approached with decadence, and the evening was well catered. Large plush couches were situated to encourage conversatioin and comfort..

Chicago Fashion Incubator

Millennium Park, in the Chase Promenade North, was the place to be Tuesday evening. Fashion cognoscenti from Chicagoland and beyond crowded into the space, witnessing design in action. The preview of the upcoming spring season was fiercely entertaining, and there was a train of delightful pieces. The event exhibited fashion to accomidate those from floss-sized to plus-sized, and the reel of models wore the cuts with woven grace. The color palettes were emphasized, and each design received its deserved nod and applause.
Macys supported industry artists showcased unique and fresh looks. The artists are six up-and-coming members of The Chicago Fashion Incubator, a four-year old program, which nurtures designers, providing all of the tools they will need to survive within the industry.

Justin Bieber's New Perfume Launch

Last year’s ‘My World’ fragrance marked the beginning of Justin Bieber’s newest business endeavor: fragrance! Next month, the pop star’s second fragrance, ‘Someday,’ is set to hit stores. ‘Someday’ combines a mix of fruity scents like mandarin, pear, and wild berries with jasmine and creamy vanilla.

The small bottle is topped off with a red, heart-shaped flower, which reminds us of Marc Jacob’s equally gorgeous fragrance, ‘Lola,’ recognized by its similarly carved plastic top. The bottle is also includes a crystal lock and key from Justin, "so fans can carry his heart around with them wherever they go."
