Terry Richardson has been in some hot water lately for allegedly being overtly sexual while photographing young girls. Well he is branching out and has plans to get guys naked and do them.
"I love shooting guys. Some of my favorite pictures over the years have been the things I've done with guys. In a commercial context too, there's no hair or makeup with guys, which is great. I love shooting nudes of guys, but it's harder to get guys to do full nudes, I don't know why, but they don't want to show their junk. I love doing guys. Georgia born Sean O'pry needs no introduction; his career speaks for itself. Now the second most successful male model in the world, O'pry has been dominating the world of male modeling and doesn’t intend on stopping.
O'pry’s road to success is a testament to the fact that we really are in a digital age where the internet can make or break you. In Sean O'pry’s case, it was Myspace that "made" him after his online pics were discovered by Nolè Marin of Elle Magazine. He was then signed by VNY Model Management in New York City.
As if Dolce & Gabbana's eye-candy, Noah Mills, needs more attention.
The supermodel will be filing into the line of models-turned-actors by making his acting debut in the sequel to Sex & The City. Mills will play the brother to Charlotte's wedding planner, Anthony.
Mills speaks about his film debut, saying:
"My first film experience is this role, so that was a little intimidating; they've worked together for so long."
With two scenes, only one of which is a "speaking" scene, we're holding out for a love scene between Mills and Kim Cattrall (Samantha).
It's nice to know that even though male models don't always recieve the glamorous perks or fame that their female counterparts (say, Agyness Deyn or Chanel Iman) do, they still "fall" victim to some of their embarrassing moments (say, Jessica Stam or Katie Fogarty).
So rare is this instance that no one even knows the model's name. The unidentified male model fell during the Fall 2010 Vivienne Westwood presentation - with bright orange pants in tow. But, as generous as male models are, a fellow friend helped him up during his own parade down the catwalk.
We assume that this will be the first and last time that we will get the chance to boast about such an occurence, but every gender-mutual perk excites us.
As promised, Yves Saint Laurent screened a delightful video, filmed by Bruce Weber, at the beginning of the label's menswear show in Paris. In tow came great styling from Joe McKenna and music from Marvin Gaye - but more importantly, random nudity from male models. Enjoy!
Typical male models acknowledge the lack of attention they receive - granted. And, typical male models jump at the opportunity to walk in major runway shows, even if the exchange isn't cash, but clothing (I'm just saying) - because, typical male models understand exposure.
Jesus Luz is not a typical male model.
Luz opted out of Milan Fashion Week - guaranteed castings and all. However, that's what happens when Madonna is your cougar, no?
Instead, Luz headed to Brazil for Sao Paulo Fashion Week, where he walked in a primary color effect for the Ellus F.W. 2010 show.
Luz, who is also Brazilian, walked out twice - once in shades, and again with the designer - who, might I add, will now be globally recognized by Madonna fans everywhere.
If Hannibal Lecter had cared more about his apparel than his next victim, he would have probably made the castings for Alexander McQueen's Homme season.
With death motifs lurking in more than one label for the F/W season, McQueen focused on 3/4 length outerwear, face masks, and prints that gave us a flash back to the last two womenswear seasons.
With charming haircuts and skull & bone prints, can you detect a hint of where Alex may be headed may be for his women's collection?
