When asked about perception of the line so far, Ashley said they had already been struggling to keep up with customer demand: Their much-publicized $39,000 alligator skin backpack, for example, has been flying out of the door:
“It was the first thing that sold off the shelf,” she told reporters, adding by comparison,“During our last economic crisis in the U.S., the only thing that went up was Hermès."
Could it be? Imagine how Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, & Samantha were in their high-school/college years?
Last Friday, StyleMint, the Olsen's newest clothing line, was launched online at StyleMint.com. StyleMint is a designer T-shirt line that features a new tee each month, available only to StyleMint members.
The concept of a monthly fashion club has been seen before, Kate Bosworth has a similar line called JewelMint, but the idea has never fully taken off. However, if there is anyone who can start a rampant fashion trend, it's an Olsen twin. StyleMint is just one of the Olsen's many fashion endeavors, but it is apparent that the girls have invested a lot of time and effort into their new line. The twins have dished out their own style and fashion advice available for members to access on the site. Mary-Kate and Ashley have also designed many exclusive products for StyleMint.

Kanye West and Mary-Kate Olsen are two people you would expect to be in the same city, not on the same couch, much less with their hands all over each other! The Web has been going nuts as soon as reports of the two stars were seen sucking face at New York City's Submercer Nightclub to celebrate his 34th. Huh?
Only a few celebrity twosomes can parallel the weirdness that is (possibly) Mary-Kanye. Remember younger Angelina with Billy Bob Thornton? Cringe. The recent gossip about the two has once again overshadowed the rumors about "the other twin" Ashley Olsen's supposed rendezvous with Justin Timberlake.
Back to School. Back to School. To prove to Daddy that his daughter can be up with the fashion and make decent grades on the side. These days it seems like the fashion industry has turned into a way artists can express another creative side to add to their ever so long pallet and fans have followed suit.
Those in the spotlight like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and Selena Gomez all have taken front seat, or more like front passenger, to fashion. The Olsen twins were one of the first with their 2001 Wal-Mart line for young girls. They took a more upscale (more expensive) route in 2007 with lines like 'Elizabeth & James' and 'The Row.'
It's very rare that a celebrity fashion designer can launch a line and be featured on style.com (just ask Beyonce) and debut during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Mary-Kate and Ashley did just that, and we've picked our top five reasons why we enjoyed them, and why they should stick around.
1. Comparisons - Does The Row share a creative bloodline with Alexander Wang? The collections were strikingly similar - in a Full House fun kind of way - yet, far more relaxed. Which, at the very least, explains Ashley's look of exhaustion during the twins' finale walk.
America's first legal male prostitute, or "prostidude," has been revealed. While some media sources are providing him anonymity, referring to him only as his working name "Markus," I agree with Steve Freiss. This is not a privilege he deserves when the picture he has circulating through the media is the same one as his Facebook profile picture. His name is Patrick L. Norton and he has made history.
Patrick, 25, is an ex-marine college dropout who left a floundering career in porn to become America's first legal gigolo. Once the Shady Lady Ranch won the state and county approval they needed to begin hiring prostidudes, Patrick was hired and has since become a focal point for controversy. He's received much flack from his female counterparts for refusing to take on male clients, but that's the least of his problems. Patrick recently came under much fire for his interview in Details Magazine where he compared his role in the sex business to that of Rosa Parks in the civil rights movement.
If it weren't for the way Mary-Kate Olsen feels the need to intentionally don everything in such a tacky way, we probably wouldn't have known the Lanvin Fall 2009 dress coat had hidden buttons.
But, we thank her for that.
And we die over her need to be a bag lady. Let's hope she has on a backpack as well.
I guess there's nothing left to do but sit and wait to watch her wear Olsenboye.

Also in interested in spreading their fashion week love next month with their collection The Row. Though, the difference between the Olsens and the Kardashians is simple: The Row has been accepted by the fashion elite; whilst Bebe, solely Kim K. for that matter, have not. Mary-Kate has been an inspiration for designers and fashionistas for years - okay, maybe a few seasons, so we are highly anticipating what she has up her chic-homeless woman sleeves.
