MEME

COOL SH!T
Thanks for signing up for Cat Facts!

With all the "Sh*t" whoever says stuff, we were in desperate need of a new meme. And this one made our day. Poor Robert puts up a valiant fight till the end, but ultimately, he is simply too dense to get the joke. This guy is a meme made in heaven. We need more Roberto's in the world!

Then again, we could be wrong. Maybe 'Cat Facts' is a legit new service ventured by these folks:

MEME IN PROGRESS: Feminist Ryan Gosling

Three days ago, a blogger named Danielle created a tongue-in-cheek blog, devoted to portaying Ryan Gosling as a feminist scholar.

It has officially gone viral.

Feminist Ryan Gosling explores what the teary-eyed hunk might be thinking in some of his finer, introspective, bell-hooks-reading moments.

"Hey, girl," begins the caption of every picture. In a Saturday post, a photo of Gosling says, "sometimes I think about Focault's theory of marriage as a governmentally developed tool that interferes with the appropriation of land rights, normalizes heterosexuality and subjugates woman's sexuality..." Gosling is wiping away a tear. "...And it makes me want to cry with you."

RIP Planking

Planking is officially Passé. It’s pretty much an unspoken rule that once a meme is embraced or even understood by your Grandparents, it’s over. (Looking at you, Hugh Hefner and Richard Simmons.) True, trendsetting hipsters have moved on to more evolved forms of esoteric photography like Leisure Diving, Horsemaning and Owling.

While the decor and facade at Meme are rather simple, the food is anything but basic. Don't let the casual atmosphere of this Fitler Square eatery fool you. Opened in 2008 by Chef David Katz, Meme offers a relaxed setting where you can enjoy sophiticated rustic cuisine.

For the first course, try the Sizzling Mussels. Prepared out of the shell with lemon, olive oil and fresh herbs, this dish bursts with flavor. If you're more of a foodie, go with the Roasted Bone Marrow served with parsley-radish salad. A strong second course is the Morrocan Spiced Lamb Loin paired with grilled eggplant, harissa and lemon oil. Chef Katz, raised in a Morrocan Jewish family, successfully explores his heritage with this dish. Or if you prefer poultry, order the fall-off-the-bone Roasted Organic Chicken served with peas, carrots and spring onion. It's so right on so many levels.
