It looks like Miley Cyrus and her foam finger didn't make the cut. Pope Francis was named Time Magazine's "Person of the Year."
Pope Francis began his papacy in March 2013 and is the first Latin American Pope. In just nine months, the spiritual leader has slowly begun to change the perception of the Catholic Church with his progressive views. He has encouraged the church to stop obsessing over "small minded" rules and has pushed for more compassionate views on hot-button issues such as abortion, contraception, and even gay rights. He has also criticized the world's fascination of money and the "global scandal" of world hunger.
"If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends / Make it last forever, friendship never ends..." That's right; that was Mel C back in the glorious days of the Spice Girls! Melanie Chisholm, formerly Sporty Spice, has come out with a brand new single that has just been released in the U.S. by Radikal Records. Loving You, features UK X-Factor's winner, Matt Cardle, in a romantic tune that is destined to start legions of hearts fluttering madly! Joonbug spoke with Melanie about her new single, the current state of pop music, and more:
Here is Afrojack's full 7 minute remix of the Miley Cyrus hit "Wrecking Ball". After releasing the preview of the song and mixing it into his live sets, the fans "lost their ish", said Afrojack. Miley is also fan of the remixm the two were even spotted hanging out in Amsterdam shortly after its release. Hopefully we can get more music from the two of them in the future. Take a listen and let us know what you think about the remix!
In will.i.am’s music video for his new single, “Feelin' Myself”, Miley Cyrus manages to outshine some of today’s top rap artists with her smooth delivery and rocking body (no giant kitten necessary).
In the clip, Miley flaunts her enviable abs and phenomenal legs in a salacious leather bra and bottoms. And, more importantly, her eyebrows are back! Sadly, Miley does not twerk in the video; however, she does rap about it and proclaims herself to be an expert in the field.
Cyrus rhymes about “popping molly” and brags that “up in the club is where you can find me.” The song, which, also includes verses from Wiz Khalifa and French Montana, is featured on the new deluxe edition of will.i.am’s album, #willpower. (MTV.com)
Besides the epic performances and awards, one of our favorite parts of awards shows is the fashion! Some celebrities really called on their inner fashion gods and goddesses last night. And some just well... didn't. Take a look at some our favorite celebrities who got it right and rocked the red carpet at the 2013 American Music Awards last night.
She didn't rock a dress adorned with Biggie and Tupac's face this time around (although she did wear a 2 piece get up adorned with cats during her performance). Miley decided to keep it classy at this award's show and she strolled down the red carpet in a simple Versace pantsuit.
Amazing performances and iconic winners rocked the stage last night at the 2013 American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift were the biggest winners of the night. They both took home a total of 3 awards including favorite soul/R&B by Justin and Artist of the Year award taken by Taylor Swift for the third year in a row. For a full list of all the winners click here.
Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus ended their engagement two months ago but although breakups can often suck big time, they both seem to handling theirs pretty well. Liam has been talking to the press recently as part of promoting his new movie “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”. What he has been reporting to the media and the people around him is that despite ending a long term relationship and all the tabloid rumors he is actually doing a lot better then he has in years.
When you want your ad to reach upwards of 100 million people all at one time you take your creative team, lock them in a room and make sure they come up with the best damn commerical the SuperBowl has ever seen! Well we don't know if it goes down exactly like that, but what we do know is how important SuperBowl commercials are to American pop culture.
Advertising Age is already speculating that Miley Cyrus, an equally important commodity to pop culture, might show up in a SuperBowl ad this year considering her mega pop culture status. I mean lets face it, after the VMAs, The EMAs and her new clothing choices, all eyes are on Miley and since SuperBowl ads want all eyes on them, this could be a match made in advertising heaven!
The MTV Europe Music Awards, better known as the EMA's, took place this past Sunday in Amsterdam. Besides, the amazing performances, live show antics, and list of winners, there is one thing one thing everyone is talking about. If you guessed the fashion, then you're right on the money.
Take a look at a recap of some of Joonbug's favorite and not so favorite looks from the red carpet, and throughout the evening.
