Can you tell us about some of the parties/venues that shaped you as an artist and a performer?
Diego Camejo: The first venue I started DJing at consistently was Mokai. Being the resident here has taught me so much. Because it is a small boutique club, it is naturally a very intimate setting. It is a venue where people are not necessarily going to focus on the DJs performance; they’re their to have a good time, which makes it more difficult as a DJ to craft a set that gets people’s attention.
Congratulations, Miami. You feel good? You've got this whole NBA Finals victory on your back, and now Independence Day is afoot. It's a perfect storm of dancin' and boozin'. We've got an extended calender of parties all weekend long, so shower off the beach and hit some dance floors.

With the insanity of Ultra Fest raging and rollicking throughout the collectively rabid masses, the chaos shall inevitably continue (and expand) with the onset of the weekend! Miami—fully in the throes of musical ecstasy and riotous carnal whims—is gearing up for a weekend of party infamy. It is the inevitable culmination of 10 days of music, debauchery, and the youthful American spirit—a deluge of fiesta!
More than you average, run of the mill weekend; ULTRA weekend is comprised of 21 bashes—featuring the sickest tunes at the most bangin’ spots—in what is truly the most grandiose swan song in Festival history!
Anticipation has a funny way of heightening an event: both through its capacity to incite a slow-building crescendo of fervor, and in its ability to massively inflate one’s expectations. In the case of Ultra Fest, the hype is certainly warranted—as this monumentally epic musical endeavor deserves an equally salacious array of festivities. It’s a natural compliment—the proverbial jelly to the fest's peanut butter—and for those whose musical and carnal appetites remain unsatiated, there is a cornucopia of bashes (both musical and decadent) that correspond with the inaugural day of Ultra Fest.
Another day, another rager in Miami! As Thursday is the eve of the Ultra Fest, there is an absolute abundance of bacchanal opportunities. With a plethora of huge musical acts at the most poppin’ spots, the festivities shall be flourishing ‘till the break of dawn. Get an early start on the impending musical maelstrom—rage hard and often!

'Hula-ween' Luau at Solé on the Ocean: The ultra-contemporary boutique hotel in Sunny Isles Beach celebrates Halloween early with a pumpkin carving, paddle boarding, limbo contests (win a weekend stay) and a beachside Polynesian pig roast. A Mai Tai, valet and music by DJ Dutch and the Aloha Boyz are included in the price of admission. Festive attire is encouraged and will be rewarded. WALL at the W Hotel South Beach has been a booming South Beach chill spot since its opening 14 months ago, so it came as a shock when club owners Karim Masri and Nicola Siervo decided it was time for a few tweaks despite no signs of a dip in popularity. With their past involvements in Mokai and Mynt, it was no surprise that these two knew exactly what they were doing. After a 10 day hiatus, WALL returned last week redecorated and redesigned for the better. Masri and Siervo took an already thriving venue, and with a few adjustments, were able to enhance the energy and ease the flow, making the experience more enjoyable for their guests. By adding gold couches and removing the x-shaped couch previously in the center of the room, they were able to improve the flow of the room, allowing for easier access to walk across the space as opposed to simply the circular path previously available. The DJ booth has also been relocated from its previous, seemingly detached, location to front and center, amplifying the energy throughout the space and incorporating the DJ in the party experience. Aesthetically, LED diamond shaped mirrors have been added behind the bars, mimicking the diamond shaped tiles that plaster their walls, and a 35-inch Raimond chandelier now hangs from the ceiling, its lights glowing to the beat of the music. With the hot new layout and design comes an even hotter new weekly party. Joonbug.com along with OneFifty will be taking the famed “Favela Chic” party, known to cater to an upscale model-like crowd, to the elegant and sexy revamped space, bringing you special surprise guest performances every Tuesday. This Tuesday October 19, don’t miss out on the launch of Favela Beach, where there will be a special live performance by Bobby Brown, and resident DJs Ross One and King Benjamin will be spinning into the late night hours. Doors open at 11 p.m.
