Paramore Attemps United Front

The past couple of months have been complicated for Paramore.

Paramore experienced a very public fragmentation of the group when brothers Josh Farro, lead guitarist, and Zac Farro, drummer, left the group. There are two conflicting reports as to what caused the break up; the Farro brothers’ frustration with Hailey Williams’s quest for a solo career, or what was originally reported Farro brothers losing interest in the band.

Despite this break up, the remaining members of Paramore, Hailey Williams, Taylor York, and Jeremy Davis, plan on continuing playing together and releasing new music. The bands one Grammy nomination for best pop performance by a group, and William's nomination for her best pop collaboration with vocals for her summer smash "Airplanes" by BoB.

A united front portrayed by Paramore’s remaining three members is essential to the band’s continual success.

The Grammy’s air February 13, 2011 on CBS.

Chris Brown Getting Good Reviews

Not so sure about Rihanna, but Judge Patricia Schnegg is commending Chris Brown.

“Out of thousands of probationers, no one has done a better or more consistent job than you have, and I really want to commend you for taking responsibility and for actually working diligently to complete all the things the court has required of you,” stated Schnegg.

Since the day in August 2009, when Brown was sentenced to 5 years probation and 180 days of community service, he has only been praised for his compliance.

Think Chris Brown will have the same attitude after…819 more hours of community service? Come on Chris, let’s see if you can run it.

Can't We All Just Get Along?

"The lowest moment in my presidency", the words spilled out of former President George Bush's mouth like venom from a snake. What was he referring to during his interview with Matt Lauer November 8th, you ask? Getting Congressional buy-in on detention policy immediately after 9/11, having an ineffective management style, not replacing George Tenet after 9/11, deferring to his generals, his absence during Katrina, being overly accommiodating to GOP, or perhaps ignoring health care reform too long? No, oddly enough former President Bush was referring to Kanye West's comments during the 2005 televised benefit for Katrina where West ranted, "George Bush doesn't care about black people". Now wether you are Republican or Democrat, its safe to say West's comments should be the last thing on the list of lowest moments during Bush's presidency. Not to mention the last thing that should be on Bush's mind, during the economic climate America is currently in. However it seems it is, and enough so that Bush unapologetically writes about it in his newly released memoir "Decision Points". Now it wouldn't be like West to not come out with a rebuttal. And he didn't disappoint November 6th, when he discussed Bush's comment with Matt Lauer. Surprisingly enough West exchanged excuses for an apology saying, "I would tell George Bush, in my moment of frustration, that I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist. I definitely can understand the way he feels to be accused of being a racist in any way. The same thing happened to me, where I got accused of being racist.

Eminem’s multi-million dollar lawsuit with Apple over the online distribution of the rapper’s music will go to Michigan federal court this Thursday if an agreement is not reached. The case between Eminem’s publishing company, Eight Mile Style, and co-plaintiff Martin Affiliated accuses Apple of providing the sale of approximately 93 songs that were allegedly obtained without the appropriate copyright. The suit was originally filed in 2005 and could result in a great deal of embarrassment for Apple.

Sincerely Yours, Hipster T*ts!

Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein meant a lot of things to a lot of people. To some he was one of the world’s greatest DJ’s- a mi master who was the king of mash-ups, to others he was a great example of staying sober despite the odds in working at clubs and around nightlife- always with a Redbull in hand. But most importantly, to many he was a friend- a person whose smile was as genuine as his heart. To me Adam was all of the above.

I will never forget the first time I met him. It was about 5+ years ago one summer night. I had been out on the town with my friend Leah and we ended up hanging out with her LA DJ friend Steve Aoki. We all went back to this apartment where a bunch of industry people were sitting around playing poker. I was still young and fairly new to NYC and I felt a bit out of place and awkward, so I sat on a couch nearby wondering how exactly to fit into the equation. Suddenly Adam walked in. He had an air about him that was just so real in such a jaded scene. Unlike some of the other guests who didn’t give me a second glance, I will never forget that Adam came directly over to me first and sat down and introduced himself. He loved my leopard headband and we began to talk about music. I was at first a bit star-struck because I loved music and had always admired DJs. As we talked I became less self-conscious and appreciative of his attempts to make me feel comfortable in someone else’s home. While he was playing poker I went home because I was tired. I assumed I would never see him again but the next day I woke up to an email on my MySpace asking me to grab dinner. I couldn’t even believe this guy with hundreds of thousands of MySpace friends even checked his own website. That was a perfect example of how down to earth Adam was. In a world of divas and posers Adam was a fine example of staying ‘real’ despite his shining star.

Beyonce to be honored as 'Woman of the Year'

Billboard announced on August 25th that Beyonce will be receiving the Woman of the Year Award at their NYC based 2009 Billboard Women in Music event. The award will be presented on October 2nd.

Billboard chose Beyonce based on a number of things, not the least of which were her musical achievements this year. In November, her 3rd album, “I Am…Sasha Fierce” was released to critical acclaim and immediately hit the number one spot on the Billboard chart. The album contained a number of singles which are incredibly recognizable, including ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘If I Were A Boy.’ Furthermore, Beyonce has been quite giving this year, donating 3.5 million meals to local food banks. Beyonce 'clearly embodies the qualities of excellence and achievement’ that the award honors, according to Billboard’s Editorial Director, Bill Werde. [Billboard.com]

Bob Dylan's Christmas Album to Donate Meals to Millions

It’s true: Bob Dylan is releasing a Christmas Album. Finally. Because I know I have waited for years to hear a nasally and critical album ripping apart the holiday season.

On a more serious note, according to his website, the proceeds from the album will be donated to Feeding America. The site states that over four million meals will be provided during the holiday season, with all future royalties perpetually going to Feeding America, constantly ensuring that many in need get fed.

Mayweather Squares Off With Rick Ross

Floyd Mayweather may have been in the middle of a long hiatus from the boxing world since he pummeled Ricky Hatton two years ago, but that doesn’t mean that the welterweight from Grand Rapids, Michigan, doesn’t still come out swinging. And this time he has his sights set on a target from outside of the boxing world, namely on Miami-based rapper Rick Ross.

In a recent interview with the website allhiphop.com, Mayweather lashed out at Ross, painting him as nothing more than a contrived caricature lacking in originality: “Cassidy already did ‘I’m a Hustla’ and he’s an east coast rapper. That’s already been done. Freeway already came out with the beard look. And then the real Rick Ross was really getting it as a hustler.”

Amy Winehouse "Not Guilty" In Assault Case

The newly divorced Amy Winehouse was actually in court last week when a Judge dismissed her assault case.

District Judge Timothy Workman believed Winehouse’s claim in which she denied that she had punched her fan, Sherene Flash, in the face after a charity event last September. Flash, who was reportedly drunk at the time, approached Winehouse and proceeded to place her arm around the singer in an attempt to be photographed with her.

In the two day trial, Winehouse told the Judge that she felt scared and that Flash “lunged” at her. Winehouse went on to explain that she only wanted to move Flash’s arm off of her. Standing at only 5’3 and Flash at 5’7, Winehouse also claimed that she herself was to short have hit Flash directly in the eye.

“I was scared,” Winehouse said on the first day of her trial, “I thought, people are mad these days, people are rude and mad, or people can’t handle their drink.”

According to Winehouse’s lawyer, Patrick Gibbs, “The main injury here was probably to Miss Flash’s pride.” This is easy to believe as no actual injury was reported by Miss Flash.
