Boutique of the Week: The Dressing Room

Located on the Lower East Side is The Dressing Room: a one-of-a-kind boutique that gives emerging designers a place to showcase their collections and provides shoppers with fresh, new styles. Creativity at its finest proves to be true as this stylish boutique is not only home to fashionable duds, but also contains a clothing exchange and a cocktail bar!

The Dressing Room launched in the summer of 2007, and has grown to be a lower Manhattan staple. The ground level features all of the newbies with clothing and accessory designers like Chromat, Peter Hidalgo, Wackerhaus, and Natalie Zwillinger. Shop around this level, or have a specialty cocktail at the bar. The ground floor also features a movie projector, free Internet access, shopping parties, and live DJs for special events.

Stylin' with Victoria's Secret Supermodel Elsa Hosk

Victoria's Secret knows that Spring Break is heating up coast-to-coast and everywhere in-between! Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with one of their newest faces, Elsa Hosk, to learn more about what's in store for Spring/Summer 2012. And if you haven't noticed, this season's collection is all about bright pops of neon, hints of lace, figure flattering designs, frayed denim shorts and much, much more!

Upon arriving at the Victoria's Secret showroom I was greeted by images of their hottest models; Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, and Elsa Hosk --just to name a few gorgeous faces! As I entered the room, racks were lined with the latest exciting Victoria's Secret fashions this season. I particularly loved the vibrant hoodies with variations of the 'Pink' logo. They're a great style staple that can be worn with everything from a casual black dress and sleek leggings, to alluring denim shorts. Meeting the blonde beauty, Elsa Hosk, was also a refreshing experience because she was very energetic, down- to- earth and quite knowledgeable regarding the latest VS looks.

Charlotte Ronson Sephora Beauty Party Recap!

LES Hotel Chantelle, vodka infused cupcakes, endless refills of HobNob Wine, and Charlotte Ronson; these are a few of our favorite things! And luckily for us, we got to experience all of them Monday night at the Charlotte Ronson Sephora Beauty Party!

Celebrating CR's collaboration with Sephora for her new Charlotte Ronson beauty collection, fashionistas from all over gathered on the rooftop of Hotel Chantelle for an amazing dinner followed by an even more amazing after party featuring the musical stylings of DJ Harley Viera-Newton. Some of the fabulous party goers included: Charlotte Ronson (duh), Charlotte's mom Anne Dexter-Jones, the social climbing wunderkind Genevieve Jones, Nylon's Accessories Director Dani Stahl, DJ Mia Moretti, filmmaker Sarah Sophie Flicker, singer/ model Sky Ferreira, Venezuelan social butterfly Fabiola Beracasa, actress/ DJ Becka Diamond, and singer/ songwriter Shooter Jennings; way too many fabulous people to name them all! Charlotte's sister Samantha Ronson and her long-time pal Nicole Richie were unable to make the event due to travel complications that ensued from Hurrican Irene.

Muah!

We absolutely love the look of red lipstick, but we do not love the stress that comes with wearing it! Constantly worrying about our lipstick smearing all over our face while we're trying to enjoy our nights out is just no fun! So you can image how excited we were when Nylon told us about a lip balm that goes on (and stays on!) with the ease of chapstick, but leaves your lips with a beautiful red sheen!

This genius innovation, called Red Passion, was created by Sugar, the makers of some of our other favorite lip tints like "Plum". Available now at Sephora, we know this will be a huge hit for fall!

Bebe Zeva's Enviable Life: Part 1

Bebe Zeva is probably the coolest 17-year-old you’ll ever meet. A former “I Am Carles” model, she blogs from her not-so-small town of Las Vegas. In a world where thousands of teenage girls cry for attention on their own personal style blogs, the attention comes naturally to Bebe. Her style is truly unique, and she’s been featured in Nylon, Elle, and Seventeen. In January, a documentary, Bebe Zeva, about her life, premiered in Soho. In my exclusive interview with Bebe, she talks about her visit to NYC, comparisons to Tavi Gevinson, and why she doesn’t like to be called a “fashion” blogger.

Rock Out With Rebecca Minkoff's Fall 2010 Handbags

After a visit to the Rebecca Minkoff showroom in Chelsea to check out the line's fall 2010 handbag collection, I can't wait to gear up for my favorite season - fall. Hosted by Shine Media PR, the Rebecca Minkoff presentation showcased an incredible array of handbags exuding the downtown chic aesthetic that Minkoff so effortlessly captures. With such a variety of sizes, colors, styles, and materials, I was struck by the versatility, craftsmanship, and personality of each bag. Here I've compiled a few reasons why a Rebecca Minkoff handbag is an absolute must-have for Fall 2010.

New Rise for Relics of Old New York

Mars Bar is having one of its periodic rises in popularity. A bar typically known for the local barflies who show up early to drink deep into the night has been playing host to celebrities looking for some city cred.

Drew Barrymore recently had a photo shoot for Nylon inside the grungy dive. Some rather odd photo outtakes appeared on the Internet, where regulars are sitting stoically in the background to be cut out of pictures entirely with blank-white backgrounds. One regular commented on the event saying, "I was there for the Barrymore shoot and the weird thing is they used white backdrops for the photos. If they wanted to block out all the graffiti, why go in there in the first place?”[EVGrieve] Like the last vestige of an ancient East Village, the sordid side of this city is easily blocked out with the razor edge of gentrification.
