Britney Spears to Be New X Factor Judge

Britney Spears has reportedly signed a deal to fill in after Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul left last year. According to E! Online, after months of negotiations and speculation, the pop princess will officially be alongside judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Ried. Reps for the show had no comment, however. Cowell this past March even said he was "flattered" Spears was interested in joining the FOX show but revealed little about the singer becoming a judge.

We hope you join the show girl, you deserve it! Just don't let it become a trainwreck like the last time we saw you on TV in Britney and Kevin: Chaotic.

Booted: Jermaine Jones Disqualified from American Idol

It was revealed during last night's episode of 'American idol' that Jermaine Jones, the 25-year-old vocal instructor from Pine Hill, N.J., was disqualified for lying to producers of the show and failing to mention that he has outstanding arrest warrants back home in New Jersey.

Jones has had multiple run-ins with the law, but when asked prior to being in the top 24, Jones lied and said he hasn’t been in a fight since high school, though police records prove Jones' pants are certainly on fire!

Talk about adding insult to injury. Times two.

Simon Cowell's new upcoming talent show The X Factor, which will make its debut in the fall, is stirring up the controversy as reports of newly added judge Cheryl Cole already being given the boot. British pop superstar Cheryl, 27, has previously appeared with Cowell in the U.K. version of the show for three seasons and was ecstatic when it was announced earlier this month that she will be judging for the U.S. installment, alongside Cowell, Paula Abdul, and L.A. Reid. Also, as of recently, it has been announced that only was she out of her new gig, her original position as a judge for the U.K. version is being revoked as well!

VH1 Divas: Ratings vs. Talent

The latest installment of the VH1 Divas induction ceremony aired yesterday with former American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, hosting the festivities at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Although the original Divas shows was intended to showcase the talents of female performers, it seams that last night’s performance was a crude ploy by the bigwigs at VH1 to squeeze ratings from an audience still riling from the MTV VMA buzz and to resurrect Paula’s spiraling career.

Paula Abdul Leaves American Idol

I know everyone is on the edge of their seat waiting for the verdict of whether Paula Abdul is coming back to American Idol. Either sigh in relief or start crying in the corner because “the nice one” (or “crazy drugged out one”) will not be returning.

Abdul turned to her twitter, the most sincere and legitimate source of communication, to express her grief over her departure: “With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to [Idol]. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of the show that I helped from day one become an international phenomenon. What I want to say most is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month. I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the world and I love you all.”

Whether you loved her or hated her, it is safe to say that she was always sincere in her “nurturing” and critiques. With that, we wish you the best of luck.

Paula Abdul: Throwing in the Towel by Force?

It seems our “favorite” American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, might have seen her last season. According to her manager David Sonenberg, Paula is extremely disappointed. He said, “Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on Idol.” Negotiation is currently in the works for a new contract, but those in charge at FremantleMedia and 19 Entertaiment have not laid out a plan for her yet. Abdul has been part of the show since its beginnings and is considered the “nice judge,” a definite fixture in the trio of Paula/Simon/Randy.
