PERFUME
Louis Vuitton, one part of luxury conglomerate LVMH, is a brand synonymous with luxury luggage, handbags and clothing. Soon you can add fragrance to the list!
Earlier this month the company confirmed reports, first leaked back in October, that master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud has come on board to spearhead the project.
True to Louis Vuitton form, Cavallier-Belletrud has quite an outstanding pedigree.
Not only does the perfumer hail from award-winning Switzerland-based fragrance firm, Firmenich, the company responsible for many of the most recognized fragrances to date (as well as the people behind the Sephoria’s Sensorium project, but he himself is a third-generation perfumer. He is also the man behind such famous scents as Stella by Stella McCartney, L’Eau d’Issey and Dior Addict, just to name a couple!
This exciting venture will also mark the first time in nearly 100 years that the Louis Vuitton brand has independently released a fragrance. Now discontinued, three scents were previously released in the 1920’s and 1930’s, Heures d'Absence, Je tu il, and Eau du Voyage, the latter having been re-issued for brief stint in the 1980's.
For those you already poised to have the new fragrance on wishlists for the 2012 holiday season, take note: the company has not released an official launch date and has hinted that it may take quite a bit of time, as Cavallier-Belletrud is likely to travel the globe in search of the right ingredients. Further, he offered the statement, as reported by WWD: “...making perfume is a magnificent journey, which starts with the quality of the base ingredient."
As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and alas, it looks as though we’ll have to do just that!

With the wild success of her first fragrance Stella, which launched in 2003 and was followed by two diffusion scents Stella Nude and Stella Sheer, it comes as no surprise that Stella McCartney is soon to debut a brand new fragrance to the masses.
Sweetly titled L.I.L.Y., an acronym for “Linda I Love You”, in honor of the designers late mother Linda McCartney, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 1998, the fragrance pays homage to her mother’s favorite flower.
The medical definition of a pheromone is "a chemical an animal produces which changes the sexual or social behavior of another animal of the same species." According to the article "Love is All in Your Head" by Laurie Barclay, MD on WebMd.com, when males wear pheromones they experienced an increased frequency of dates and interest from potential sexual partners. That little tidbit of information left us here at Joonbug wondering: What about the girls? What about when we want to attract a man to us using natures' secret?
We got to work researching the scents that have proven to drive men wild over time and three scents made nearly every list we came across: cinnamon, vanilla and lavender. Other favorites included jasmine and ylang-ylang. Read on to find out why these scents are so attractive, how to wear them and where you can pick some up for your own test run!

Last year’s ‘My World’ fragrance marked the beginning of Justin Bieber’s newest business endeavor: fragrance! Next month, the pop star’s second fragrance, ‘Someday,’ is set to hit stores. ‘Someday’ combines a mix of fruity scents like mandarin, pear, and wild berries with jasmine and creamy vanilla.
The small bottle is topped off with a red, heart-shaped flower, which reminds us of Marc Jacob’s equally gorgeous fragrance, ‘Lola,’ recognized by its similarly carved plastic top. You are wearing your sexiest threads: Your skirt is sitting well up your thighs and your blouse is open just that one button too many. For the girl who likes to walk on the wild side, Gucci’s ‘Guilty’, gives just the right amount of wrong. Innocent lilac and geranium, fruity mandarin and peach, spicy pink pepper, sultry patchouli and lust-invoking amber, combine to give a scent which is sexy and daring, yet, has at its heart a feminine vulnerability.
Finding the perfect winter scent is no easy task, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t fun. Find time to set aside and make a few trips to your favorite department of cosmetic store. Test various fragrances and find what works best with your body’s natural chemistry. Take your time, as perfumes change and smell different on everyone. Remember that your winter scent shouldn’t be too icy or crisp. Woodsy or spicy fragrances with a musky base evoke warm thoughts and memories, perfect for getting close to someone. Your perfect fragrance should melt into your natural scent. When you find the perfect scent, you’ll just know.
If you are a make-up and skin care fanatic like I am, you probably consider Sephora your sanctuary. It is the absolute "mother-ship" of all beauty stores! It is always there for you to lose yourself in endless lip gloss testing when you are feeling low, and definitely cheaper than a trip to your therapist! Fortunately, or unfortunately, this time of year it becomes chock- full of holiday promotions and gift sets. Aside from it being hard enough to find the perfect present for a friend, co-worker, or family member, now we are inundated with the rather impersonal, plethora of pre-packaged "gift sets".
