Former Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump rose to fame after his band toured the world and sold hundreds of thousands of records. Stump now finds himself on the road supporting his self-produced solo music, an infectious blend of radio pop and groovy R&B that's a far cry from the pop-punk that made him a household name. Currently on tour with Panic! at the Disco, Stump acknowledges what many fans expect of him. However, he's more than comfortable just being the soulful, multi-instrumental performer he hasn't gotten to showcase until now.
How’s your tour with Panic! at the Disco going so far?
Ashlee Simpson, 26, filed for divorce from Pete Wentz, 32, on Tuesday.
The couple has been dating since 2006 and got married on May 17, 2008. They have a 2-year-old son together, little Bronx Mowgli.
The reason for the split claimed by Simpson is "irreconcilable differences". She asked for joint legal custody — and primary physical custody — of their son and she is also asking the court to restore her name to Ashlee Nicole Simpson (she had it changed to Ashlee Simpson-Wentz less than month after their wed).
Sunday: traditionally a day of rest and contemplation. According to Steve Aoki and Hornitos Tequila, that might not cut it anymore. With some help from Jesse Marco and Holy Ghost!, this crew transformed Sunday at the Bowery Ballroom into a Friday night. Neither Chris Tucker nor Ice Cube were in attendance, except perhaps in spirit.
Friday, like the movie. See what I did there? Remember 1995, anyone? Hm, ok then, moving on.
Obsessive fans will do anything to get closer to their favorite artists. There is even a black-market for over enthusiastic fans to buy used pieces of clothing, half-eaten sandwiches and even snotty tissues so long as they were blown by “so-and-so.” The collector’s item that typically divides the true-blue fans from the shady stalkers is the lock of hair.
Which is exactly what certain fans of Fall Out Boy will receive if they preorder the band’s new album, Believers Never Die. The select group of superfans, known as the “Overcast Kids,” will receive a lock of bassist Pete Wentz’s hair along with a special gift package if they cough up the $130 for the special edition package of the band’s greatest hits album.
On his blog, Pete Wentz recently announced that the couple has decided that instead of selling baby photos, they would rather sell the baby itself to the highest bidder. As you already know, while they were brain storming to come up with a baby name fit for a rock star or a senator, they scribbled the initials B.M.W. and picked Bronx Mowgli Wentz, the most humiliating name contender since Fifi-Trixibelle Geldof (for reals), in order to assure the kid gets beaten up by everyone throughout his life.
Perhaps, I am too critical of the couple. Although celebrities generally sell the pictures and use the money for a good cause, Pete and Ashlee have decided not to exploit the baby and instead wait until it is time for “Bronx to be out in the world”. While reading Pete’s rant about how difficult it is to live in the public eye with “vicious” paparazzi stalking them, I felt compelled. Compelled to grab my camera and score big bucks by actually getting that coveted photo. Personally, I think they are not getting enough publicity so they want the paparazzi to chase them around incessantly because if the paparazzi understands one thing, it is respecting one’s privacy. Kudos Wentz.
