Howl At the Moon

Located at 26 West Hubbard St, just two blocks north of the Chicago River, the national chain, Howl at the Moon, is one of Chicago’s most beaming hotspots. At approximately 5pm, the doors to the home of the ‘dueling pianos’ open, and patrons are welcomed within. Inside, customers are greeted with two stubs, which allows them to receive two drinks for only $1 each, before 7pm; after which, they are able to receive drinks for $3.50 until 9pm. Howl also offers free appetizers, buffet-style, at the head of the establishment, and vigorous live entertainment.

Upon taking a seat, you are given a form, in which you write song suggestions for the pianists, who strike up music on a pair of baby grand pianos. When received, the pianists sift through hundreds of requests, choosing songs at random. They then perform, lyric and key, and send shout-outs to the selectors. The boisterous pair of singers/performers spend hours on in recreating classic ditties and present day chart toppers. All while this is happening, the pleasantly crowded lounge.
