PLANET HOLLYWOOD
It's being labeled as the biggest shows ever to hit Las Vegas. A meeting of the best of the best that funk has to offer. Taking place at Planet Hollywood on March 19th, 2011, Parliament Funkadelic, Zapp and more, will be performing together in what could be considered the greatest collection of funk musicians of all time.
Tickets will be on sale starting January 29th, and will probably go quick so be sure to get your ticket as soon as possible.
This is a cannot miss!
A record has definitely been broken for the most expensive glove (not even pair of gloves) in the world. Just around the one year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s passing, his glove has been sold at auction in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. How much did it sell for? Oh, only $190,000! The glove was worn by Michael during his Victory Tour and is covered in Swarovski crystals. The glove was only expected to sell for $20,000-$30,000.
Harrah's has announced truly incredible news. Starting Monday, April 12, all of the Las Vegas Harrah's casinos will come together for a citywide "Buffet of Buffets" coalition. That means for just $29.99 you can visit any (or all) of Harrah's seven buffets throughout the city as often as desired within a 24-hour period. For that day, you will have unlimited access to the breakfast, lunch, dinner and (most importantly) dessert stations at:
- Carnival World Buffet at Rio
- Flavors at Harrah's
- Paradise Garden Buffet at Flamingo
- Emperor's Garden Buffet at Imperial Palace
- Le Village Buffet at Paris
- Lago Buffet at Caesars Palace
- Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood
The much anticipated (and ogled) Stripper Bar is finally open!
Located in Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile Shops, Stripper Bar is a boobs-in-your-face restaurant/museum/school/bar stripper oasis.
Before entering the first and only bar "run by strippers," patrons have to walk through the legs of a 31-foot-tall custom-built Stripper, dubbed Sin City Sindy by owner/designer David Saxe. There will even be a hidden "crotch cam" to take pictures of curious customers sneaking a glace up Sindy's skirt. Who could ask for a better souvenir?
When one thinks of Las Vegas, images of glitter and neon come to mind, not cowboy hats and fringe! But now there seems to be a resurgence of country-themed entertainment on the Strip that disappeared a decade ago along with early 90s.
It shouldn't come as such a big surprise that these new country nightclubs and bars are opening up after the recent success of country stars in Vegas, like Garth Brooks. Country has crossed over into the mainstream (Hi, Taylor Swift!) and now its crossing over to Sin City as well.
After a nearly two-month hiatus, Holly Madison's Peepshow is back at Planet Hollywood. The show has been revamped with new dance routines, trimmed and cut segments, as well as new cast members, including Wayne Brady's former backup girl Cheaza as the Peep Diva.
There's nothing sweeter than a great celebrity sighting. Well, except maybe seeing six celebs in a candy store. That's exactly what happened at the Valentine's Day opening of Sugar Factory in Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile.
It was a reunion for both Peepshow stars Mel B and Holly Madison as well as for The Girls Next Door stars Holly and Kendra Wilkinson. Kendra's husband, NFL player Hank Baskett was also there as well as Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino of Jersey Shore.
When I say that Jason Alexander is coming to Las Vegas for a new one-man show I receive many blank stares. But when I say George Costanza is coming, there is an overwhelming understanding and excitement. This is the curse of an acclaimed-sitcom actor.
Though it's been over a decade since Alexander's portrayal of George on the hit show, Seinfeld, the character still makes a strong imprint on his life. Fifteen years ago, William Shatner, who experienced a similar relationship with the character Capt. James T. Kirk on Star Trek, pulled Alexander aside to give the present of insightful advice on Alexander's 35th birthday.
Las Vegas pulled a Titanic, sweeping this week's 2010 Nightclub & Bar Awards. Vegas' sinful sanctuaries took home all of the big wins and walked away with seven of the Top 10 sports and eleven of the Top 15!
There were more than 235 entries competing in fourteen categories at the 25th annual Awards sponsored by the magazine Nightclub & Bar. A panel of judges each had to select their top three choices from the lists which they submitted and were then relegated into the categories. There will be an official ceremony at Lavo in the Palazzo on March 5 to honor the winners.
It's here again. The day that is as dreaded as it is anticipated. The day that we all care too much about and wish we didn't. That's right. It's almost freaking Valentine's Day again.
And whether you're spending "that day" with your special somebody or considering throwing a little pity party with your friends Ben and Jerry, I bet Las Vegas has some better ideas for you.
Now, for all the single ladies (cue Beyonce music here) and men. Just because you're alone on Valentine's Day weekend doesn't mean you have to be alone-alone. There are plenty of non-romantic/couple-y activities for you and your friends to make the most out of a bad situation.
