Everyone is patiently waiting for Alexander McQueen's last collection to save the god awful Paris Fashion Week. But, even better, everyone is eager to see who will replace the late designer. Speculations pointed to Gareth Pugh and Olivier Theyskens. As if Theyskens can really do what McQueen did - we just all feel bad for him because he's unemployed. Whether the Gucci Group wanted to continue Alexander McQueen's label or not - consumers and public figures discretly made the decision for them.
And when First Lady Michelle Obama dons a McQueen transparent neck-tied blouse to speak to students in England, we suppose that very much seals the deal.
The Gucci Group and PPR recently announced the company's efforts to continue the McQueen label and intentions to show the Fall 2010 bevy [that McQueen completed before his death] next month during Paris Fashion Week.
