DVF To Rule CFDA longer..

A change to come!

At least that is what the board was thinking yesterday morning when they changed the bylaws of the CFDA/Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Diane Von Furstenberg, who has served as president for two-two year terms, has been re-elected to serve another term until December 31, 2012.

The two year term rule was enforced after former president, Stan Herman, served as president for 15 years - far too long. However, Diane's term-expansion was highly supported by CFDA board members who believe Diane's leadership has helped expand the organization's membership.

New Book Published Entitled 'The Obama Menu'

We all have seen and heard of President Barack Obama stopping at certain fast food spots and surprising diners in restaurants. Now someone has put all that into a book. TCB café has just published The Obama Menu: Dining with Barack Obama. In this bizarre, but rapidly selling new publication, author A.K. Krump has published menus and dinner plans from all of President Obama’s 2008 campaign fundraising dinners.

On top of that he has included the stories that were passed around at the table, first-hand accounts from diners, as well as photographs and recipes of the food that was shared. Is this something that we all want to read about? What the President eats? We all know we Americans love our food, but who knew this much. [NYmag]

Time Mag Names Barack Obama 'Person of the Year'

No surprise here: Barbara Walters’ Most Fascinating Person of 2008 is also Time’s Person of the Year in 2008. Barack Obama took the title as announced by Time magazine’s managing editor Wednesday on the Today show. And could you think of anyone more deserving than the President-elect? His motivational motto, “Yes we can” took America by storm and inspired a discouraged country to believe in the possibility of change.

“He hit the American scene like a thunderclap, upended our politics, shattered decades of conventional wisdom and overcame centuries of the social pecking order,” Time reports in its cover story.

Runners-up included U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Chinese director Zhang Yimou.
