PUSSYCAT DOLLS
Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, and this year's winner of Dancing with the Stars, has joined the cast of Rent. She will play the role of Maureen in the L.A. summer production of the musical. The show is directed by actor Neil Patrick Harris, who recently had a guest spot on Glee. I'm sure the two celebrities will not disappoint Broadway fans.
Not even a month after it was confirmed that Matt Goss would make the move from the Palms to Caesars Palace, it was announced that the Pussycat Dolls would be leaving Pure in Caesars heading over to Paris.
There's nothing sweeter than a great celebrity sighting. Well, except maybe seeing six celebs in a candy store. That's exactly what happened at the Valentine's Day opening of Sugar Factory in Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile.
It was a reunion for both Peepshow stars Mel B and Holly Madison as well as for The Girls Next Door stars Holly and Kendra Wilkinson. Kendra's husband, NFL player Hank Baskett was also there as well as Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino of Jersey Shore.
The Sugar Factory, best known for their Couture Lollipops and celebrity fans including Kim Kardashian, the Pussycat Dolls, and Eva Longoria, have come up with something even more revolutionary than reusable and fashionable lollipop sticks.
Coming later this year, Sugar Factory is opening up a new flagship store inside Paris on the Strip. The 15,000-square foot location will expand upon Sugar Factory's current brand with the addition of a full-blown restaurant that will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, late-night options, and, of course, dessert.
Panic! at the Disco lead band members, Ryan Ross and Jon Walker, have decided to independently break out from the group to go it alone. Cliché, washed-out, punk rock band routine? I think so. Ross, supposedly the creator of the group, is the brains behind the band. But no need to panic, the remaining members will still continue to record and tour without them. If my band math is correct, 4-2 = 2. How will the band operate with only one guitar/vocals member and bass player? Auditions for new members may be necessary-- perhaps twisted into a reality TV show like the Pussycat Dolls? I hope not. We will surely find out by staying tuned to see what happens to both Ryan and Jon's careers, along with the remainders of Panic! at the Disco.
The Jean Shop
Well I have a favorite belt, yes I’m blogging about a belt. I’ve had this belt since college and trust me that was many many years ago. Anyway, The belt is worn in just right. It's a dark brown heavy leather belt which has been worn to a point where the belt now looks light brown and weathered. It's just beautiful and perfect. The problem is, it's torn in the back and now my lovely belt needs a replacement.
I was at the Apple store on 14th street and walked the block for a cab and passed by the Jean Shop. This place is amazing. Jeans and jackets hang on the wall in all shades of leather and denim, belts and shoes in display everywhere. They offer any style, color, wash - whatever you like in jeans.
Following a two year swirl of rumor and speculation, Nicole Scherzinger, lead-ish member of the Pussycat Dolls, says…well says pretty much nothing. Apparently her long awaited (really?) solo album still remains in “development of doomed solo project” purgatory.
"I think it'll just come out when it wants to come out, on its own," Scherzinger tells Billboard.com. Oh dear lord, is she hinting at a day that albums will become sentient beings? Producing and evolving until we are overrun by a collective race of overly produced generic pop? We are all doomed.
In addition to honorable mentions including Billboard’s top pop artist of the year and two Grammy Nominations, 2008 has presented Chris Brown with plenty of incentive to keep “Running It” into the New Year. Chris will change the scene though, primarily focusing on collaborations and songwriting projects with the Pussycat Dolls, Backstreet Boys, and, most unexpected of all, Tim McGraw. The two artists joined forces for the unreleased single “Human”, which Brown declares “is incredible” and a unique occasion to experiment in the sphere of Country.
In less shocking match-ups, Chris is writing a considerable number of songs for girlfriend Rihanna’s upcoming album, including several “dope collaborations between me and her”. Considering all the seeds sowed, 2009 will also be a generous year for this promising young man.
