RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
April 19, 1978, changed Hollywood when James Franco was born. Franco is truly a gem in Hollywood, with his dashing good looks, nonchalant attitude, and amazing acting capability. He keeps his private life out of the tabloids but keeps entertainment junkies on their toes with his amazing performances.
He made us laugh in Your Highness, a stoner comedy similar to his previous hit, Pineapple Express, where he played a pot dealer and gave us one of his most hilarious performances of his career. He took a more serious route when he played a rock climber in the acclaimed, 127 Hours, and made us cry and see how truly gifted he is as an actor and he was even nominated for an Academy Award for his performance as Aron Ralston.
Happy birthday to Tom Felton!
It's alright, go ahead and let your inner Harry Potter geek squeal with delight as the Slytherin hottie we love to hate celebrates his 24th birthday today. As you probably already know, yours truly is always happy to report any awesome HP news to the wonderful readers of Joonbug.
We have watched Tom Felton from the very beginning. His debut as antagonist Draco Malfoy in Sorcerer's Stone (2001) all the way to this year's finale in Deathly Hallows. Over the years, us fans have grown up with the star, witnessing him experience his voice changing and his character go from being annoying to a complete a-hole.
Telling James Franco to be quiet is about as easy as making children eat their vegetables. Good thing in both cases, they manage to stay adorable and our sappy hearts would forgive them easily.
Coming from the unexpected success of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Franco stopped by Conan O'Brien's late-night talk show (TBS) Tuesday night to have a little chat. Topic of choice? His acting career, first and foremost...and also his brief encounter with potential amateur porn.
Rupert Grint lets out his inner fanboy at the Rise of the Planet of the Apes premiere in Los Angeles, 07/29/11.
The 22-year-old actor surprised movie fans by showing his support for friend/Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton at Hollywood Boulevard. Bromance is in the air, just look at Rupert's shirt: 'I <3 Tom Felton'. How cute! At first glance, you'd think the twosome just randomly crashed the premiere for some good old bonding time, but Tom is actually in the film! Rise of the Planet of the Apes includes leads James Franco and Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto, whom were both present in the premiere as well.
