Odds are many readers from the UK have seen a really heart-warming ad for the Nintendo 3DS’ remake of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time this week. It stars Robin Williams and his daughter, Zelda Williams, named after the titular video game character. Robin Williams himself has been a long-time Legend of Zelda fan. In fact, the idea to pass the name on to his daughter came from his oldest son, who loved the games as well. Now Zelda, who also grew up loving the games because of her father, shares the spotlight in this new commercial.
The Harvard Lampoon boasts itself as the longest running humor magazine based on the English language. Along with the vast numbers of humorists who have gone on to careers in the comedic entertainment industry, the organization will occasionally honor those whom it finds worthy of being included in the notable ranks of humerati. The latest of these honorees is the controversial synth-glam maven Peaches, who will be honored in an induction ceremony tonight in the mysterious “Lampoon Castle” located just outside of Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA.
Last night on CBS, the people had their say on movies and entertainment in 2008. The Queen, Latifah that is, hosted the star studded bash from the Shrine Auditorium in downtown L.A. Fans nationwide logged on to vote for their movie, music and television favorites in the months leading up to last night’s ceremony.
The People’s Choice Awards were fairly low-key this year, no doubt a result of how the awards were pretty much cancelled last year due to the writer’s strike. Even though the People’s Choice Awards don’t really act as a harbinger for more prestigious awards, the night went very well for a few stars in particular.
