It may have just been fashion week in New York, but this week the MAGIC is in Las Vegas. The Men's Apparel Guild in California, or the snappy acronym MAGIC, is one of the biggest global events in the fashion world. Celebrating its 77th anniversary this year, MAGIC has drawn 700,000 people to the Strip including designers, manufacturers, and celebrities with their own lines.
This is the first year the convention has expanded to include both the Las Vegas Convention Center as well as the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The women's wear is displayed throughout the original convention halls while the menswear and new footwear FN platforms are at Mandalay.
At the top of his modeling career, Delaware native Garrett Neff needs no introduction. Being named Forbes’ fifth most successful male model goes to show that this gorgeous, 6’1”, perfectly sculpted body made it to the top.
Most recognizably, he is the face of Calvin Klein Body, where he appears as the first model in the iconic campaign. He follows twice Oscar-nominated Djimon Hounsou, Mark Wahlberg, and Kate Moss. Legendary photographers Bruce Weber and Tom Hintnaus shot the current Garrett series. From the pictures, you can see he will have no problems filling these infamous shoes.
Dear Rock & Republic,
You suck! Love, Naika
Okay so that was a bit harsh, but I have no other way to describe their new recession collection named ‘Plain Wrap’. Founder Michael Ball explains “It’s just a very basic, clean version of what we do. Staple pieces like T-shirts and jeans, the kind of thing you wear for a long time. The opposite of disposable fashion.” Really? Really? Look, whoever the brain was behind this ‘Plain Wrap’ collection needs his or her right pinkie toe shot. What makes this limited collection so tacky is the fact that the names of the items are written on the items. For example, at t-shirt will have the word t-shirt written on it as if we did not already know. I mean no disrespect Mr. Ball (ha Mr. Ball) but this collection is unappealing, unoriginal and boring! If you want to do your consumers a favor, lower your damn prices!
