5 Breakout Style Stars We Love

You most likely recognize our first style star, Jessica Chastain, from her role as sweetly naïve Celia Foote in The Help. The role not only put her on our fashion radar but also earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. With numerous red carpet appearances to follow, Jessica has stepped out some seriously coveted designer gowns landing her top spots on Best Dressed lists around the web. Showing an affinity to bold color and classic silhouettes, we’ve seen her in favorites from Balenciaga to Calvin Klein. Her fair skin and luscious red locks have been making her red carpet style pop, most recently in the gold embroidered Alexander McQueen gown she donned for this year’s Oscars. Jessica was radiant in a lacy, bright green Elie Saab number with loose auburn tresses at a pre-Oscar event and we can’t forget the breath-taking plum Oscar de la Renta gown she wore to The Help premiere in LA. The latter paired with her signature cascading locks and bright contrasting jewelry; we’re convinced this Style Star can rock any bold hue effortlessly!

Oscar-Worthy Style: Get Inspired by Your Favorite Characters

On February 26th, fashionistas the world over will be glued to their screens studying every inch of every detail of every one of their favorite stars. The Academy Awards is the red carpet to end all red carpets. Careers are made based on outfit choices for the Oscars. Who could forget Anne Hathaway in that red Valentino a few years ago? Prior to that appearance, she was a Disney star, but afterwards she was known for her chic taste in her personal wardrobe and last year even hosted the ceremony herself. When it comes to style, everyone pulls out all of the stops - especially the nominees.

Hollywood's Touch Of Evil

Last month, New York Times Magazine gathered the year's best film performers to create a short series of beautifully chilling videos directed by Alex Prager called A Touch Of Evil. Killers, crooks and crazies are just a few of the villianous archetypes that were selected and portrayed by our favorite actors. (Watch the whole series here.)

There's Brad Pitt as the madman, where he says he was channeling ‘‘Peter Lorre — with a dose of Kramer.’’ He was praised last year for Moneyball and The Tree of Life. Mia Wasikowska becomes and axe-weilding home wrecker reminiscent of The Shining. Her best performances include Albert Nobbs, Jane Eyre and Restless. Rooney Mara, leading "lady" in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, dresses as the sociopathic Alex from A Clockwork Orange. Gary Oldman imitates a creepy ventriloquist dummy in his spooky spot. Quite a different role from his performance in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
