RUMOR
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
If you're sticking around Beantown this weekend, you may want to check out these parties and events around the city, you know, for in between all those BBQs.
FRIDAY, MAY 25th
Musings have run rampant the past few days concerning the potential unveiling of EDCNYC (Electric Daisy Carnival). Preliminary sources are claiming the fest is indeed stopping our way the weekend of May 18th. Metlife Stadium (New Jersey) is the supposed staging ground for the three day cacophony of electro/dub madness.
If last year’s line-up is any indication, electro posterboys David Guetta and Skrillex could potentially grace the stage once again. EDC typically amasses a crowd over a 100k strong, so come May, the bass drops could potentially be reverberating through us all.
Only time shall tell, but an official announcement seems imminent—as the proposed date is less than 3 months away!
Just this past week, Radiohead released The King of Limbs.
In a recent article on NME.com, there are rumors that the band might be hinting at releasing even newer material. This all comes from fan speculation, but it might hold some water.
The last track on the album, "Separator," is leaving a lasting impression on fans, who feel that the title might be suggesting a companion album to connect the two.
NME writes, "Other theories point towards orders for The King of Limbs being numbered 'TKOL1.' Some fans are suggesting this could mean a 'TKOL2' release for the near future."
Of course, these are all just rumors and speculations. The thing is, Radiohead is capable of handling their music any way they'd like. So, this isn't that out of the ordinary.
Let it be known that internet rumors are as reliable as an unsolicited email claim that you have won the Nigerian lottery and that the numbers for your private bank account are needed to deposit your “guaranteed” check. Be that as it may, I feel an obligation to relay an exciting message that has the internet buzzing.
Word is spreading fast that the electro-dance power duo Daft Punk is planning a world tour for 2010. Although unconfirmed by representatives of the techno wonders, certain indicators are favorably pointing in the direction of a tour, namely their work on the upcoming Tron Legacy movie from Disney and the featuring of their likenesses on the new DJ Hero video game. Other indicators, such as the unprecedented success of their “Alive 2007” tour and the fact they haven’t released a full-length studio album since 2005’s Human After All, all point to a definite touring possibility.
Amidst the controversy surrounding the reported rift between Aerosmith and its lead singer, both Steven Tyler Joe Perry have reported to the media that the absent lead singer will not be leaving the band.
Rumors spread when Perry, the band’s lead guitarist, told the Las Vegas Sun newspaper that, “Steven [has] quit as far as I can tell,” hinting at an industry shaking break-up of the band who has been playing together for over 40 years. When no response was heard on behalf of the singer, Perry commented on his twitter page that the group was “positivly [sic] looking for a new singer to work with,” causing wide speculation about the possibility of a new frontman for the iconic rock band.
