Getting To Know Savoir Adore

Deidre Muro and Paul Hammer of Savoir Adore are refreshingly free of egos. I had the opportunity to let them finish each other's sentences on the first night of their 3-week residency at Cake Shop. We chatted about the creative process, Brooklyn, and just what Paul plans to do when playing shows just isn't enough to keep him awake anymore.

How did you two start writing together? How did you begin collaborating musically?

Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore Wed!

Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore were married this past Tuesday. The two announced their engagement last month after having dated on and off for a year.

While I don’t really know much about Ryan Adams, I do know that it’s wrong for news outlets to be comparing this coupling to that of Zoe Deschanel and the guy from Death Cab. See, in the latter couple both actually write and perform good music while in the former one is just whiny and the other stars in movies like “License to Wed.”

Anyways, Moore and Adams wed in Savannah, Georgia and despite appearances, we wish them all the best.

Music News Roundup

- The White stripes will be performing together for the first time in more than a year on the final episode of Late Night with Conan O’Brien. A far more important reunion than any of the others we’ve mentioned this week.

- Rumor has it that Trent Reznor will be producing the Jane’s Addiction album.

- Singer/Songwriter Ryan Adams and Singer/Actress Mandy Moore have announced their engagement. We can only hope this union will produce a singing/songwriting/acting megachild.

- Sonic Youth have confirmed their new album title The Eternal. It will be the band’s sixteenth album, following 2006’s Rather Ripped.
