Matt Levine to Open 'The Cocktail Bodega' in Late July

Matt Levine, the entrepreneur behind NYC hotspots The Eldridge and Sons of Essex is at it again. The Cocktail Bodega, set to open in late July, will offer liquor infused smoothies and fresh squeezed juices.

It can’t get any better, right? Wrong!

Chef Roblé, reality star and chef responsible for Avenue New York, is set to provide a menu of tropical themed dishes to complement the specialty drink creations.

Its home at 205 Chrystie Street will definitely leave guests impressed. We also have no doubt that celebrities will pop in every so often, as Levine’s Sons of Essex has hosted the Twilight Breaking Dawn cast party, and is rumored to have hosted Justin Bieber’s newest album release.

(For you Beliebers, OMG!)

This spot will surely be a summer treasure from the minute doors open.

Daylife Festival To Make Camp In LES

Long ago, the Lower East Side was a haven for pushcart markets. Fruit stands, handmade goods, and local artisans would line the streets calling out to the denizens of New York to buy their product.

This June, the Lower East Side Business Improvement District wants you to re-live that excitement at the Daylife three-block festival.

On Sunday, June 3rd, from Noon to 5pm, head down to Orchard St. between Houston and Delancey for food, fashion, music, and a comfortable layer of astro-turf.

Thrillist's 3rd Annual Martini Week Kicks off at The Kitchen NYC

Thrillist kicked off its third annual Martini Week with an event at The Kitchen NYC (146 East 44th Street). The night featured Bombay Sapphire and Grey Goose martini cocktails crafted by some of NYC's finest master mixologists. With libations ranging from Pink Sapphires (made with Bombay Sapphire Gin, maraschino, lemon juice and cranberry juice) to Orchard Apple Martinis (made with Grey Goose Vodka, apple juice, lime juice and simple syrup), guests enjoyed 14 different martini stations and jaw-trembling appetizers like juniper braised duck and jonah crab cakes. It was an exciting way to begin the two-week city-wide promotion, running through April 6th.

While famous for their most authentic cheesesteaks, we’re just as excited to have a new low-key bar around Times Square. With that said we still think you should arrive, belly’s grumbling, mouths salivating over melted cheese and the smell of seasoned steak, because if you do, you’re in for a real treat. But it’s not just the food that fuels our fire, it’s the lax atmosphere without being too Cracker Barrel or the dreaded Shoney’s. Deep red walls with décor of bar decals and a menu board and the smallest feminine touch of scrolled pendants. TV’s lined everywhere showing news or sports during the eating hours. It’s a fun place to go when being hormonal with your girlfriends and itching to indulge in a fatty fest of melt-in-your-mouth Philly Cheesesteaks.
