SUSAN BOYLE
Britney Spears will appear in a musically charged episode of the hit series Glee upon its return to television this fall. Paul McCartney and reality show winner, Susan Boyle, are also rumored to have spots secured on the show.
Simon Cowell's American Idol contract is up after this season and with Paula already gone and the additions of Kara DioGuardi and Ellen Degeneres as judges, the Brit brute's future on the show post-2010 is unknown. One thing is known though, and that is Idol or not, Cowell plans on bringing his hit British reality show The X Factor to the States sometime soon. The X Factor has already produced spin-offs in 19 other countries and launched the careers of stars like Leona Lewis, but Cowell's current Idol contract has kept him from launching the rival singing show in America.

The homely, church-going, middle-aged, now recent singing sensation Susan Boyle has caught the attention of pop divas from both the U.S and the U.K. Boyle has been thrust into the spotlight after her performance on Britain’s Got Talent.
Kelly Clarkson, the original Idol, has a soft spot for the unusual singing sensation. Being the sweetheart she usually is, Clarkson gives praise to Boyle. “I think it’s awesome. I’m bawling when ever I hear her sing.”
Lily Allen, known for not following the crowd is against all the Boyle hype. A tweet from Allen had the diva singing a different tune. “Susan Boyle is so overrated. Je suis overrated aussi. Listen, I am allowed to have an opinion. I thought her timing was off. No control, and I don’t think she has an amazing voice. Yes, she can sing, but it’s not about talent with her is it? She seems like a lovely lady but if it’s about talent, that Shaheen kid should win.”
Oh Lily, when will you ever learn to play well with others?
It was a strange thing to observe when a month or so ago on Britain’s Got Talent (Albion’s equivalent of American Idol) a middle-aged Scottish woman named Susan Boyle took the stage and gave a haunting rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical Les Misérables. Boyle received a standing ovation from the crowd and unanimous praise from the judges. Even Simon Cowell, the man who has made a career out of being a total A-hole, was so moved that he lauded Susan by saying something like, “It’s amazing that someone who looks like you can sing so beautifully.” Boyle then blushingly thanked Simon for the compliment.
Did someone say internet craze?
Courtesy of Simon Cowell’s other cash cow, Britain’s Got Talent, the world has been introduced to Susan Boyle – an unassuming 47 year old from a small town in Scotland. After an unexpectedly amazing performance in the first round of the talent showcase, Boyle has experienced an exponential rise to fame. With only one song and a YouTube clip (an amazing cover of “Cry Me a River” which has received over 19 million views… yep, 19.), Susan has become a near household name in a matter of days.
