ALMOST FAMOUS
To Talk or Not To Talk

In a recent interview with T Magazine, supermodel Kate Moss shared why she chooses secrecy. It was reported that the model began her career open to the idea of frequent press and interviews. Though, after a few tastes of harsh criticism, this star decided it was best to keep quiet.

Now Moss agrees to open up only on her terms. In other words, for the people and projects she likes and when she knows there won't be a spin on the story.

Honestly, with the press out there today Moss may have the best idea - some things are just better left unsaid!

Lunch With Lartigue

Wednesday night saved a spot for baggy fun; I attended Loomstate’s Our Magnificent Earth Day Celebration. The event was hosted by the label's designers Rogan Gregory and Scott Mackinlay Hahn, with jewelry designer (and a Joonbug favorite), Pamela Love. I had an opportunity to speak with Scott about Loomstate's Surf capsule collection for Bloomingdale's; When asked about their competitors (i.e. Cynthia Rowley for Roxy and Proenza Schouler’s Spring 2010 collection), Scott seemed moved that his "hobby-turned-job" trend was being shared amongst a group of brilliant designers, and he boasted about Loomstate’s ability to keep their Bloomingdale's Surf Lodge capsule within an economical-friendly price range. The event housed a 20ft tall interactive psychedelic pyramid, which became the arena to 40 amazing drummers led by the magnificent Hisham Akira. Also available were face paintings, psychic readings and a guest appearance by fashion ‘it-girl,’ Becka Diamond.

Congratulations Stefano Tonchi

We'd like to congratulate Stefano Tonchi for what we felt he knew was going to happen all along - becoming the editor-in-chief of W Magazine. What started off as a race to the finish line with a handful of prominent heavy hitters contending for the title, has now come to an acceptable end, with Tonchi expected to start work as early as April 12th.

A Night of Grace In The City

Last night was amazing night in NYC as I marched uptown to Bergdorf Goodman to socialize with Linda Fargo, Leigh Lezark, Daphne Guinness and more.

The event was to celebrate Steven Klein: 30 Seasons With Akris. The label's designer, Albert Kriemler, was also in attendance. Besides the amazing and devastatingly handsome catering and bar staff, the fourth floor was filled with delightful Akris-clad mannequins and images of Akris clothing throughout the years.
