TAO
As reported, Maritime Hotel’s Hiro Ballroom and Matsuri Shutter restaurant are closing its doors, making way for Marc Packer and Rich Wolfe of the Tao Group to take over. According to Eater, Mr. Packer is looking to open a Tao Downtown restaurant in the Chelsea location, although finer details are scarce for now, don't look for any openings until early 2013.
Heidi Klum is well known for her elaborate Halloween costumes and parties. This year's 12th annual party at Tao nightclub at the Venetian in Las Vegas was no exception with her dramatic entrance and ensemble.
The eccentric supermodel was covered by a blood spattered sheet and wheeled onto the red carpet by two dudes dressed as doctors. The sheet was pulled back to reveal a skinless Klum in a bodysuit with immaculate muscle and bone detail. She rose from the gurney and proceeded to pose for the cameras as if she walked right out of the pages of an Anatomy textbook, or maybe a twisted episode of Dexter.
Warning!
The infamous Sunset Saturdays at Dream Downtown's pool will now be taking place at PH-D Rooftop Lounge. The lounge is located on the 12th floor of the Dream Downtown and has amazing views of the city. The Lounge has hosted numerous celebs such as Solange Knowles, Christina Ricci, and Tyson Beckford and is brought to you from the creators of Tao, Marquee, Lavo, and Avenue. Signature cocktails are pricey, but equally delicious. Similar to The Standard, this venue is selective at the door (read: dress to impressss), but once you weave your way in, it is worth the wait. Don't miss these wild evenings every Saturday from 5:30-10pm. For reservations, e-mail SunsetSats@gmail.com.
On Wednesday night, legendary nightlife/restaurant guru Noah Tepperberg had his birthday celebration. For you people living under a rock, Noah owns some of the best and most profitable nightclubs in the world. Just to name a few venues, does Tao, Marquee, Lavo and Avenue ring a bell? The night started at Tao with a 300+ person dinner. Everyone was dressed in white, as it was a white and neon themed party. Even the infamous giant Buddha who sits in the main dining room was dressed properly with a white shirt and neon sunglasses and was surrounded by gorgeous busty dancers with onion booties that definitely made me tear up a little bit. T & A was clearly the main course for dinner. Everyone then went to Lavo, where Kaskade was DJing. (I seriously love his song "Move for me" from 2008 and will never ever get sick of it. I still listen to it now while I walk the stinky streets of NYC.) It was a epic evening at Lavo. Filled with the most beautiful people in NYC, with dozens of people flying in from around the world just for the special occasion. Lots and lots of bottles of champagne being popped and a gigantic pair of sneakers in a form of a birthday cake all for the special birthday boy. I would have to say it will be nearly impossible for anyone to top this birthday celebration. Happy Birthday Mr. Noah Tepperberg!!!!
Amidst the whirlwind of his latest project, Dream Downtown, we were able to steal a few questions from owner, Noah Tepperberg. He and his partners at The Strategic Group have been the brains behind famous hotspots such as Marquee and Avenue in NYC as well as TAO and LAVO in Las Vegas. With the new unveiling of the acclaimed, Dream Downtown, they continue their reign on nightlife. After our interview with Noah last week, we wanted more --and so did everyone else! Without further ado, here's ten questions with Tepperberg.
Noah Tepperberg can be described as no less than a nightlife mogul. He and The Strategic Group are responsible for opening some of the hottest spots ever; including Avenue, Marquee and Artichoke Pizza in NYC and TAO and LAVO in Las Vegas.
Their latest project, Dream Downtown had a launch party on June 15th, which was described as simply, "Epic." Quite a crowd came out to celebrate the much anticipated opening, including singer Eve, Solange Knowles, Tyson Beckford, Shenae Grimes, Kellan Lutz, and Kara Dioguardi, just to name a few. The new spot hasn't officially opened its doors to the public, but it's already being touted as the "next big thing." We got a chance to chat with Noah about Dream and what's to come for the new lavish hot spot.
We've been hearing about this venue's new Manhattan location for quite some time now, and everyone wants to know, 'When does it open?' ...
The official answer is September 15th!!!
Glad there is finally an answer to the unanswered question.
Next week: the drink list. Stay tuned...
Having a little mid-week crisis? Let us help! Just take this short quiz to figure out exactly who you are -- in relation to Las Vegas celebrities, that is.
So say goodbye to your current identity emergency, and say hello to the four most important questions of your life!
(Ok, so that last part might have been a little over the top, but you get the point. Enjoy!)
1. How do you pick up someone of the opposite sex?
A. A coy smile, enticing laughter, and some sexy dance moves if all else fails
B. I'd just ask them on a date. Simple and direct.
C. Lock eyes from across the room and slowly approach, making sure to maintain the eye contact. Then, I'd just ask if I could buy them a drink. It's classic, and classic never goes out of style.
This Friday, April 30 Community stars Joel McHale and Donald Glover are performing at Mandalay Bay. These two hysterical hotties are both on my list of future boyfriends, so I obviously have spent a lot of time thinking about where to best stalk them during there time here in Sin City. I actually met Donald once, too so I already have an ice breaker prepared. He told me I was a "sexy Fievel" for Halloween, words which I cherish and shall be proudly displayed as my tombstone epitaph. I also know Joel is happily married with two kids, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?
Tao has come up with an ingenious idea, and a great way of setting its pool parties apart from all the other wet ‘n wild summer events.
Everyone has gone to one of those parties where they did something they regret. I mean, this is Sin City, for chrissakes! These transgressions are to be expected. But what if you could party and be pardoned at the same time?
That's one of the ideas behind Tao Beach's new Sunday Sunset Sessions party. Tao Beach director and the freshly ordained Reverend Marklen Kennedy is now able to perform a variety of nondenominational ministerial duties including marriages and baptisms, courtesy of the Universal Life Church Monastery.
