Nowadays there are parties dedicated to everything from Tupperware, jewelry, and even sex toys. Need to change up your routine potluck dinners? Try a cheese tasting party! Any reason for a party is a good one. A cheese party is relatively stress-free for the host because cheese comes pre-made and is a fun, casual, delicious party idea.
FIRST: Invite a small number of guests, around 6 but no more than 12, to keep the party intimate. More than 12 guests can create cliques during the party, since this is a way to engage with each other over delicious cheese, keep it on the smaller side. Anyone who loves cheese is an ideal guest but don’t limit yourself to cheese mongers. Help expand a friend’s mind by encouraging the discovery of something different.
I'm not quite sure if anyone actually refers to Deerfield Beach as DeBe, but maybe it'll catch on after this Saturday when Deerfield Beach shows the rest of South Florida what the natives have known all along: Deerfield Beach is a foodie hotspot! For locals, Deerfield Beach's First Annual Wine and Food Festival will be a reunion of favorite restaurants and eateries, as well as some new finds and rediscovered gems. For out-of-towners, the festival is a chance to discover the great culinary treasures that Deerfield Beach has to offer.
Showcasing 40 top chefs from the area, the line-up includes food tastings from restaurants spanning the gastronomic spectrum. All sorts of restaurants, from haute cuisine establishments to casual local landmarks, will be represented. Additionally, the participating restaurants demonstrate the rich ethnic diversity of Deerfield Beach: American BBQ, Michelin star-style French, Thai, Sushi, regional Mexian, Greek, and Italian by way of Italy and New York, just to name a few. As if sampling the best of Deerfield Beach's cuisine weren't enough, the hosts plan on keeping things convivial by offering tastings of 40 different wines and spirits, including beer from a local microbrewery. A sundae isn't complete without its cherry, and this food and wine festival offers several alluring "cherries" to top things off: celebrity chefs, cooking demos, a famer's market, and a foodie bazaar!
The stage is set, the players are in position, all that remains is for the curtain to go up on the first ever Manhattan Cocktail Classic, to be held this weekend at venues across the city.
The event has been organized to celebrate the life and times of the classic form of the cocktail, from its insemination in the early 1800's to its place in contemporary society. Coming together for the weekend are an astounding ensemble of pioneers and icons in the bar world, from Dale 'King Cocktail' Degroff, Sasha Petraske (of elusive, exclusive and down-right enviable Milk & Honey fame), and Doug Frost - one of only three people in the world to complete the Master Sommelier's course and become America's Master of Wine.
