Former The Bachelor contestant, Gia Allemand passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from an apparent suicide. The star was found by her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson in her New Orleans home on Monday, and was soon transported to the hospital. Allemand was in critical condition and placed on life support. According to US Magazine, on Tuesday, Aug. 13, the 29-year-old model's publicist released the following statement: "Gia Allemand was taken to University Hospital, New Orleans last night following a serious emergency medical event, the details of which are currently not known. She is listed in critical condition." Unfortunately, Allemand was too far gone to be saved. According to People Magazine, a family statement said, "Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn. Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other lifelong friends by her side. As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites." Many celebrities such as Jake Pavelka and Holly Julian tweeted their love and concern over the tragedy. Pavelka, who is the bachelor Allemand was competing for on season 14 tweeted, "I had to pull over, I can't stop crying. We have lost an angel." It's terrible to see such a beautiful woman that has changed so many lives leave us so soon-- may the beauty rest in peace.
