The best and brightest mixologists converged upon La Cote at the Fontainebleau yesterday for an all out cocktail battle royale. Bartenders came from all over the country to represent their respective cities at the Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition. As guests sipped premium Bacardi rum and socialized amidst the palm trees and ocean breeze, 12 of the countries most well-known and highly-trained moonshiners duked it out for the chance to compete in a global Bacardi competition. Not surprisingly the last man standing hails from none other than our very own bleary-eyed city! John LerMayer, the resident bartender at everyone’s favorite local watering hole, The Florida Room, blasted away the rest of his opponents with his egg-white, lavender infused, Bacardi cocktail. I was lucky enough to snag a sip of his winning drink and let me tell you it was down right delicious, and an instant classic. Cheers John!
