Those who become nauseated at the thought of another “Lil’” rapper poisoning the airwaves with overproduced tracks that only appeal to musically ignorant pre-teens can breath a sigh of relief. Rhymesayers Entertainment’s latest installment of the FELT collaboration, FELT 3: A Tribute to Rosie Perez, will be hitting underground hip-hop distributors on November 17. As the title suggests, this is the third record by the legendary MC duo of Slug (of Atmosphere) and Murs (of Living Legends). Keeping with the pre-determined idea of having a guest producer creating the music on the album, the two vocalists have recruited Aesop Rock (of Definitive Jux) for the daunting task. The previous albums, A Tribute to Christina Ricci and A Tribute to Lisa Bonet, saw production by The Grouch (of Living Legends) and Ant (of Atmosphere), respectively.
BK-One of Rhymesayers Entertainment has been the DJ for Brother Ali since 2000 and has toured the world as a renowned beatsmith for the popular MC, but the release of his first solo album, Rádio do Canibal, will propel the DJ into a wider range of recognition. With a release date of October 6th, this collaboration of records collected through extensive tours of South America (namely, Brazil) and working with fellow Twin Cities producer, Benzilla, will be an undertaking well worth the effort.
