Last week, the recession took its first star restaurant victim. Celebrity chef Charlie Trotter has closed his award-winning Restaurant Charlie and Bar Charlie in the Palazzo.
Just three weeks after Charlie and director of business development Rochelle Smith were married, the couple had to announce the heartbreaking decision to shut down the eateries.
"We can only be happy and proud of the success of this project over the past two years. The restaurant opened with rave reviews, including obtaining the top ranking as Best New Restaurant in Las Vegas, and we also won the first Michelin Star in less than one year."
Zine Noodles Dim Sum made history this week by being by being honored as one of the Top 10 Chinese restaurants in America for this year’s Top 100 Chinese Restaurants Awards.
Editor-in-chief of Chinese Restaurant News, Betty Xie, congratulated the restaurant saying, “With these awards, we acknowledge those restaurateurs who excel at the overall experience: exceptional food and magnificent service in beautiful restaurants. We salute Zine Noodles Dim Sum for being the first restaurant from our host city of Las Vegas to rank in the top 10 in our six year history.”

Black Eyed Peas at LAX
Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel stayed close throughout the night once they arrived at LAX in the Luxor. Black Eyed Peas member Apl.De.Ap entertained the crowd with his spinning while the rest of his band mates (minus the love-birds) cheered him on from the DJ booth.
